  1. Yes I'm talking about the ready to drink shakes because convenience helps me be more successful. I've tried many different drinks and have settled on 4 different ones (plus different flavors of each). Screenshot attached. The first one is a more traditional milk based shake and the other three are more yogurt/juice types. For some reason I'm doing better at drinking these better than eating the spoon-yogurt version but those last three seem to be so high in carbs/sugar which makes me question whether it's ok to have that much of it helps me get to my protein goal. I have a call into my nutritionist to ask her but thought I'd post or here as well.

    Making this public!!!

Wow good for you for thinking through what you think will help you. The approach of going public makes sense. I too am fearful of the regain possibility which is why I'm keeping news of my surgery mostly quiet. But I can see how this thought process may be seeing me up for failure because it could be that I don't have enough confidence in myself that I will not regain. Something for me to think more about. Good luck to you on your journey.
  3. I still struggle s lot with meat and I'm 3.5 months post surgery. It's very frustrating because I love meat and I want to enjoy it again but I really have a hard time with it. I try to focus on chewing a lot and eating slower because I definitely have a problem if I don't. But if I do chew enough to mush up the meat then it doesn't seem like meat anymore and I get turned off by it. Sigh.
  4. Been using it since before my Aug 15 surgery. Love it. Easy to use.

It can be done. I did it!

    Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.
  7. ... also in the hair loss stage. Totally freaks me out seeing so much on the brush, in the shower, on the floor. It really is scary to see.
  8. Hello friends. I was sleeved Aug 15. Down 32 lbs since surgery, plus another 15 on the pre surgery diet. Happy with the weight loss so far but I just can't hit my goals for protein or water. Nothing ever seems appealing to me to eat probably because I've had a lot of nausea on and off since surgery. Every time I eat or drink I have to be very mindful to not allow my body to go into nausea mode. I feel better when I have nothing in my stomach. I also haven't even begun to exercise. This whole journey has definitely been a struggle for me. Still trying to mentally get to a good place. As someone else mentioned I too am still feeling unhappy because I miss the comfort of food. And it's weird to open the fridge, find nothing appetizing, then just close it. Thankfully the weight loss this far feels good and helps prop me up while I'm feeling disappointed in myself. I do have a therapist that I've seen regularly for years so we're working on all this stuff together. This is such a challenge.

    I binged

Unfortunately I've found that chips, candy, bread, and other unhealthy stuff doesn't bother my sleeved stomach at all. I'm very disappointed and surprised by this. I really thought my new stomach wouldn't tolerate such foods. So now I need to have more strength to abstain.
  10. For the *losers* out there I'm curious whether you see yourself looking the same or different in the mirror compared to in photos, with both being at your current weight. I'll post my response as a comment so as to not influence your thoughts.

  13. I've lost 37 lbs since my Aug 15 surgery (total 52 lbs since pre surgery diet). I've been feeling pretty good with the weight loss so far. It's noticeable to me in my clothes and how I can now cross my legs with both legs hanging vertically like they're supposed to. I've actually looked at myself in the mirror more than I have in years. It's cool being able to see my collarbone and shoulders and my slimmer face and neck. This past weekend we took family photos for Christmas and when I looked through them I was a bit disappointed. My weight loss doesn't seem to be as noticeable in the pictures as it is IRL. Curious if anyone else has noticed that.
  14. My surgery was 8/15. Yes the emotional struggle is real for me too. Cried tonight in fact.
  15. That's bullsht! If I were in your situation I'd go back to that HR person and their boss and tell them that was a HIPPA violation and you are considering reporting it. Same with the Bariatric office. I'd be so pissed!!!

    Dear Stomach...

    Where's that thread?
  17. @Megan Sadler congratulations, that's exciting!
  18. I'm almost 3 months post surgery. I take Omeprazole every morning but I still get nauseous at different points in the day. Haven't figured out the trigger but in the meantime I need to find something to address the symptom. Pepto Bismol was my go-to before surgery but it doesn't seem to help now. Any recommendations?

    Social outings suck now

I have no advice because this is a huge issue for me too. I was sleeved 8/15. I get so frustrated going out to dinner and only having a couple bites and no alcohol, then just sit there forever while everyone else finishes eating. I hate it. It makes be very angry.
