I'm so very sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you and your family. I will keep you all in my prayers. -
I can relate. Why do we do this to ourselves?
-
That's awesome!!

@bajansleeve yes let's both fight, together!

I'm sorry you're struggling. I can only empathize but I have no words of wisdom because I too, am having a hard time at 5 mos post surgery. I don't feel I've fully embraced a healthier lifestyle and made it part of my routine like I expect I should have by now. I'm fighting the downward spiral of not being happy with myself. Good luck to you. I hope you find a way to turn things around.

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
rs replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It feels like the honeymoon phase may be coming to an end for me, at 5 mos post surgery. And it's really starting to affect me mentally. -
Please keep us posted. We're here for you.

Yup, I still have issues with meat and eggs. My nutritionist says it's not uncommon. I was sleeved Aug 15th.

Thanks for the update. Good for you for taking care of YOU by distancing yourself from this unsupportive person, and also for being kind enough to leave the door open for the possibility of the friendship to heal at some point in the future. Hugs.

Thanks for the update. Glad you're home and feeling better.

Better you, than me. I simply can't handle eggs anymore since surgery. Not hard boiled, fried, scrambled, etc.

Something to keep in mind when you come across friends who have become unsupportive through your WL journey. It's possible that if the person is taking too many withdrawals from the relationship then it might be time to let them go. Special thanks to @ummyasmin for sharing this concept.

I found a one pager in it. There are plenty of articles going into more detail. Looks like it originated from Stephen Covey. I really like it.

Sorry you are having such a tough time. This is certainly a hard road to travel especially in the first week or so. I felt like you in the beginning. Ended up dehydrated and needing fluids pumped in me. I never thought things would turn around and I was so angry. Fast forward 4 mos, after having lost 50 lbs, and the weight loss alone makes me feel so much better physically and mentally. But I will admit that I still throw up sometimes and I still struggle with the mental aspect of this journey. I get angry sometimes because I just want to eat the way I used to. I'm a continued work in progress. Hang in there. Read the posts on this site and you'll see that it really does get better over time.

Interesting. My nutritionist is fine with me still having shakes. It's the only way I can even get close to reaching my goals. I'm 4 mos post sleeve. I went through a period of not tolerating premier so I switched to Core Power, made by Fairlife. I like the Banana and the Strawberry/Banana. https://fairlife.com/core-power/our-products/
