  1. I'm sorry for the loss of your mom. It certainly sounds like you've had a lot of challenges this past year. But you're tackling it! You look great! Be sure to congratulate yourself often on your perseverance and hard work. Way to go!

    Feeling weak

Perhaps you are dehydrated. I had a similar situation after my surgery last summer and ended up needing an IV of fluids put in me. I recommend drinking more and taking it easy physically to let your body heal, don't walk it off or push yourself. Good luck!

  6. This past weekend I visited some friends out of state that I hadn't seen in almost 2 years. I had my sleeve surgery 8 months ago, lost about 80 lbs from 260 to 180, and hadn't mentioned it to them beforehand. The first person to see me freaked out and yelled OMG OMG What happened? I told her that I had surgery. She paused and said I want the old back. Such a strange reaction. She said it was just such a shock, she wasn't prepared to see me like that. She also asked why I hadn't said anything to prepare her. I said I just funny really see a reason to bring it up. The next friend said I looked great but then said he was mad at me because he had gained 100 lbs over the past few years. Then finally the last two friends said they were happy for me and I looked great. In the end the first two came around and said they were happy for me. It was just a weird feeling for me for awhile. Afterwards I looked at the pics of us and I can see that I definitely look different so maybe I kinda understand the reaction. Just thought I'd share.
  7. Congratulations on the 100 lb weight loss! I have no words of wisdom to add that hasn't already been said above. You've got this! I'm down 94 since 8-15-18 sleeve. Weight loss is really slowing down now and I really do fear the real end to this honeymoon period and how hard I will have to fight to not gain it back.

  9. I have no advice, only empathy. I still struggle 9 months out. I just haven't been able to master this part of the journey. 94 lbs down though which I'm so grateful for. I keep logging my food, even the crap food I unfortunately take in at times which keeps me aware of the choices I'm making and how much it increases my calorie and carb intake. I just keep working on managing it the best I can. I'm not giving up. Best of luck to you.
  10. No specific weight loss required pre surgery but instead I had to do the liver shrinking diet to make the surgery easier.

    Am I done?

Also 9 months out. 90 lbs down but now the scale is barely moving. I must confess that I haven't been making good food choices lately. I'm trying to get my head back in the game but I'm getting nervous that I've reached the end of the so-called honeymoon period. I'm not giving up though! I'm satisfied with the weight I'm at now but to get to the normal BMI range I need to lose another 10-20 lbs so I'm still marching toward that goal.
  12. I fear my honeymoon period is coming to an end at 9 mos post surgery. I'm still losing, slowly, but I've been slipping in my food choices. It scares me but I'm trying to use it as a wake-up call to stay focused on working the program.

    Bathing Suits

These are the swim shorts I got. I really like them. You can get any swim top, any style, to go with it.

    Bathing Suits

I got a tankini top and swim shorts bottom to camoflauge parts of my yucky legs. Macy's has tons of swimsuits to choose from online.
  15. Awesome! Congratulations!
  16. I am sorry for all the challenges in your life. I really hope things get better for you. Good for you for digging in and focusing on your health. You've got this!

    Cocktails & Wine

@boldilocks me too. I had a high tolerance before surgery and it seems that hasn't changed post surgery. What has changed is that I can't take in as many ounces of liquid though. So now I order doubles. Still, I don't often get to the point where I feel intoxicated. Very surprising because I have read that post surgery the alcohol usually affects patients faster.

    Not telling anyone

I only told my immediate family and a few close friends includinga few I work with. But I didn't tell any other co-workers. People at work starting noticing after I lost about 60. My response was that I'm logging what I eat, focusing on protein and minimal carbs. And not eating the often 3000 calories I used to eat. Also said I was triggered by the fact that my dad died at age 58 and I was marching closer to that.
