  1. Hey Jules, I had a bit of the same problem with my heartbeat. I also had surgery on the 12th. They let me come home tonight. I am sore but I’m moving around pretty well. I had some terrible nausea from my pain meds. I was vomiting right out of surgery. That was very uncomfortable. I am still suffering with some gas pains as well. I lost right around 30 pounds pre-op so I feel we are very similar. I would love to follow your progress! I am eating yogurts, bomb pops, cream of wheat cereal, drinking watered down apple juice and water. I have some bariatric pal soups that I plan to start tomorrow. Eating is not as bad as I thought it would be. I fill up extremely fast. I’m hoping that once my swelling goes down that will get easier. I hope you make it home soon. 😊
  2. Today is my day. I’m a bundle of nerves. Surgery is at 9:45. Wish me luck!
  3. If you test positive they will put you on an antibiotic for a couple of months. It should not affect approval.
  4. I had my nurse refresher class yesterday. I also had my final weigh-in, 40 pounds down! They gave us sample meal plans and all kinds of info about what to expect. On Friday I have my appointment with anesthesia. Then I think reality will set in.
  5. Thank you! I have all my pre-op and anesthesia appointments next week. I’m so excited.

    July surgery

I have been dieting for a few months. I am 30 pounds down. My surgeon does not require a liquid diet before surgery, we just have to stick to a 1400 calorie plan. It’s been pretty easy to do. All of my pre-op stuff is next week. I am excited.
  7. Every program is so different. Not to mention insurance dictates how we follow it. It did seem to go by very fast. I was happy for that, at least. I did feel that I learned a lot from the appointments as well. Thank you for the well wishes! Next year at this time we should be looking pretty good. 😊
  8. My insurance let me do my 6 month diet with 2 different docs. I was able to do that in three months. I started with a seminar and my first appointment was the next day. I needed 7 total appointments for weigh ins. I used a nutritionist and a bariatric doctor for my diet. During that time I did my psych evaluation, question and answer session, physical therapy evaluation, and EKG and other testing. I had a last minute Endoscopy because my surgeon suggested that I go with the sleeve instead of bypass. I felt like I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off! I do feel lucky about how I was able to do my diet. So beginning to surgery will be January 31st to July 12th.
  9. Hello all, I am looking for someone that I can connect with and share experiences and maybe keep each other accountable. Anyone out there?
  10. My doc suggests taking 4-6 weeks just to get used to the new normal. I have short term disability and I plan to take at least 4 weeks. I work in an office but I lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis. I want to make sure all is well before I come back.

    July surgery

Congrats! I am having surgery on July 12th.
  12. Hope it’s not tmi, if so, I’m sorry. My surgeon only prescribed me the lovenox because I have a birth control implant so the hormones make me more prone to clotting I had a hysterectomy and have to take estrogen vaginally (sorry, TMI!). I wonder if I will have to do the same?
  13. Congrats!! 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you! I can’t believe it’s finally happening. I’m excited and nervous.
  14. I finally got a date! I go on July 12th. 😁
  15. Last time I called the person I spoke to said they were waiting on approval. I’m hoping they sent it off. 😕 I have Healthlink insurance.
  16. I have been waiting or approval for almost a month. I was hoping it would come sooner but it looks like they are going to take their sweet time with it.
  17. Oh dear, I’m glad you got to the hospital in time.
  18. Good grief! That is horrible. I’m glad you are feeling better, but, that must have been awful. Where was the blood coming from? I can’t believe you came home in that condition.
  19. I started at the end on January. I was lucky in that I needed a 6 month diet but it could be broken up into 3 month segments. My program ran them concurrently.
  20. It’s awful. I went to my last appointment 2 weeks ago. I’m hoping it will be soon.
  21. I feel like I’m never going to get a date. The waiting is terrible.
  22. Woohoo!!! Sending all of the positive vibes!! Congrats! And good luck.
  23. I know what you mean. I’m in the home stretch and it still feels like it’s taking forever. I just want my date. I am happy that I had to diet since February 1st. I’ve learned a lot from my team and I’ve list weight so less to lose after surgery. You will get there. Take away as much info from the providers you see during that time. Get things you will need after surgery. Good luck to you. 😊

    EGD TEST RESULTS

No they didn’t. Did they say what the ultrasound is for? Gallbladder?
  25. I am going through the same doctors as you are. My insurance changed on 5/1 and I am now waiting for insurance approval. I now have a $2500 out of pocket max but I have a 10% surgical co-pay that I have to pay on top of the OPM. I'm afraid of what I will have to pay.
