I’m sorry you’re feeling lousy. Everything is temporary- and this will eventually pass too and you’ll move on to better days and much more confident ones. Come on here and post often- it helps.

Maybe try upping your calories not food? Add in avocado, cheeses, eat nuts for snacks? Try to get closer to 1200-1500?? Have you met with your nutritionist to talk it through? I’d think they know how to correctly maintain or up your weight

Premiere is what I find most tasty and they aren’t horribly expensive. Usually 6.00 on sale at cvs or stop and shop (4 pack) or on amazon for larger packs

Worried about my wife
BostonWLKC replied to Biggamehunter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the bigger issue is how to get your wife to EAT and exercise . That seems the only way to get her moving again and get energy level up. Yes all wls can be drastic loss I’m a short time but I don’t see many people in the same boat your wife is in BC she should be exercising regularly and eating more I hope you continue to go with her to her nutritionist appointments. Good luck. -

I am way too private for pics lol. -
Today's weigh in officially marks 100 lb loss and I couldn't be happier! what?!? I am still amazed with the transformational changes-- physical and emotional- that happen throughout our journey. I wouldn't have thought this was possible-- or that I would have a healthier relationship with food? So grateful and feel amazing.

How often do you weigh yourself?
BostonWLKC replied to AEdoesRnY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every morning but only track it 1-2 times per week (tues and sat). If there isn’t a loss on tracking days I don’t track. (Haven’t had any gains). I find benefit to keeping myself accountable and on track- and I’d rather know ASAP if things are not moving in the right direction. Weighing doesn’t really upset me but if it did I’d likely put the scale somewhere and only take it out on tracking day(s). -
Headache passes! It’s just a withdrawal headache . Don’t rethink- you’ll regret it.

Fat Shaming by Medical Practitioners

I used to be so depressed after seeing my PCP. Some of the comments were just unfiltered...which I tend to like, but when it involves a sensitive subject, well, it hurts lol. However it was a main push in the WLS direction so .... -
4 weeks post op-best veges to start with
BostonWLKC replied to Letsgetgoing2018's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Generally limit ( or omit) the starchy vegetables like: Beets Carrots Corn Green Peas Parsnips Plantain Pumpkin Sweet Potatoes Taro White Potatoes Winter Squash, such as acorn or butternut squash Yams The same can be said about starchy fruits to avoid: The most starchy fruits are plantain, banana and dried fruits such as figs, raisins and dried apricots. Essentially they turn into sugars--which we dont eat a lot of anymore. -
August 10th, need a little support
BostonWLKC replied to NewYorkStateofMind's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi ! Congrats on your amazing start! Wow 52 lbs already! I spent my time researching here and on the web on tips and expectations, packed....and generally tried to stay busy and not obsess haha. Clean the house, go shopping for just the essentials or whatever else you wont want to do for the first week or so. The days will go by quickly, especially if youre working in the leading days. For me, surgery was really uneventful. The gas pains for the first few days was the worst part-- so just focus on walking a lot during that time (and getting in water). My taste buds really didnt change but others have experiences with that so dont buy too many protein shakes in case you dont like that brand after surgery. Premier protein is my favorite. Post here often -- and update us . This community is an amazing support. You've got this . (and its amazing!) -
