What to pack for lunch...headed back to work
BostonWLKC replied to tmrtyty2018's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My go to is Oikos triple zero yogurts, cheese sticks and roasted chick peas for snacks :) When you get there— turkey jerky is yum! Hummus and tuna packs are great options for lunch! Here is my lunch today— chick peas , cucs , peppers with spicy tuna and a smidge of feta . Amazing . When you get there tho! Congrats ! -

Chick peas, peppers and cucumbers . Sprinkle of feta. Ate the whole thing! Probably too much :/. (Cup and a half maybe 2??) Yummy tho -
Get your water in! That’s helps move things- think of it as flushing the fat out. It took me about 7 -10 days to get rid of surgery fluid and get “regular”..... feel better

What’s everyone eating 6 weeks post op?
BostonWLKC replied to Vccc's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Small portions of anything I could tolerate at that point. Just tell them you’re on a diet and watching portion sizes . -
How do you know when your full?
BostonWLKC replied to Auroragirl4489's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sounds like you could be eating too fast! You mention you’re really hungry and it’s happening only at dinner— maybe that’s it? Eating fast prevents me from knowing I’m full until it’s too late and I feel bleh -
Hopefully it passes soon for you. What are you eating? It may be a symptom of what your body tolerates . At this stage it can be like figuring out what your stomach can and cannot eat

Any in Boston going through BMC??
BostonWLKC replied to DollfaceD's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was up and back to normal in about 3 days... just didn’t lift anything over 10 lbs . Holidays will be fine... you won’t be hungry but I’d think you’ll be ok for everything else. My pre op was only a few days - liquids for 2 days prior. I didn’t have to do a big diet before - I just couldn’t gain. You’ll be ok- has was a beast but the incisions felt ok after maybe a week. sleeping (side sleeping pills on stomach$ and getting up were tough for a bit. I hope you get a date soon :) -
Any in Boston going through BMC??
BostonWLKC replied to DollfaceD's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I did last December! After pre-op appointment it took about 2 weeks. The whole thing was about 5 months from the first appointment. I actually had them book out a bit further for surgery as I wanted it in December for when I had vacation. They accommodated Bmc was great! Who is your Doctor? I had Louise Pernar -

Hi all Have the flu (ugh)... and so sick to my stomach. Had husband go buy some bread or crackers to settle my stomach. Had bypass 9 1/2 months ago and have been pretty good with foods etc. I’m beyond my goals and honestly need to stop losing weight. All that said.... in the past two days I’ve eaten a TON of oyster crackers (whole box) and about 5 pieces of bread . I hadn’t had any bread type items in over 9 months so I feel like I’m failing.... even though it was just to settle stomach. I easily ate the bread and crackers with no restriction etc as far as I could tell but maybe ate too fast anyhow. Ugh. Am I on proverbial slippery slope ?! Kinda freaking out after the fact

Thanks Biddyzz! Feeling better ! Argh was so sick- flu?! Yes I’m super proud :). Need to learn about maintenance now- I think have an appointment on the 15th so excited to figure that out!

Starting weight 225 lbs
BostonWLKC replied to Lovingmyselfforever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was 236 bypass surgery 9 months ago . I’m now 135. Weight loss slowed to literally 1-2 lbs a week for past 4 months and I’m now in maintenance. Just keep an open dialogue with your NUT around calorie intake and you’ll be fine :) -

Identity Crisis after dropping 80lbs in 8 months.
BostonWLKC replied to BlueGirl1920's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I still feel the same way... it has been about 9 1/2 months and I constantly don’t recognize my physical self. Although it’s fun looking :) -
What James said! I don’t think I’ve dumped ever but I have feel ill due to eating too much and too fast. Before I knew it I ate too much. Or the same feeling when too much sugar in a food. But that’s my own stupidity Mostly you learn your pre- triggers. For me it’s a few hiccups :)

Flavored Decaf tea helps... and sugar free popsicles :). Each popsicle is like 2 ounces haha
