Feeling Awkward & Embarrassed About Visible Weight Loss
BostonWLKC replied to bluehat's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It’s def uncomfortable . People mean well and I guess I’d also be bummed if they didn’t notice hahah. But after you say it once it isn’t necessary to keep commenting every time you see me- that’s when it gets weird 🙄 -

Pre Op Physical Question (female)
BostonWLKC replied to Alee.J's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope on gyno exam! I only had blood work, ekg and general physical. -
Congrats on the loss! Orchid is right- have to look at your own numbers! 21% in 10 days?!? When have you ever lost that much that fast ? :) I think I lost about 1 lb every day or two in the beginning too— it adds up! Hang in there- start weighing yourself less often if it’s becoming a lot for you . I know that’s hard! I’m trying to only weigh in 2 times per week haha Try to keep your loss personalized to you and congrats again!

Make yourself the priority and let her worry about herself. This is on her is she’s adding in time. Don’t worry about others on this one :) take that appointment offered! -
About 5 days! Walk a lot and it passes quicker!

Have you tried premiere protein shakes? They can be sweet so if you don’t like that you can water down a bit. I find they’re the best tasting. Many flavors !

Congrats! It’s an amazing journey! Be sure to update when you’re able!

When will it stop hurting to drink water?
BostonWLKC replied to Elle E's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try hot water. I couldn’t drink cold water either for first month or so! Hot water or decaf tea works! -
Congratulations on standing up and doing what you needed to do for yourself. You are stronger than you think- you’ve got this. Glad you are moving in a positive direction
-
Good luck and I hope you don’t have any issues over next couple of weeks!

How did you choose between VSG and Bypass?
BostonWLKC replied to Greyfaery's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had the bypass. I found that many sleevers end up revising to bypass and I didnt want two surgeries. I also didn’t want the reflux possibility and wanted maximum loss . The bypass gives that maximum weight loss - the sleeve is close though! I really don’t see why people say the sleeve is any easier of a recovery. For me- the recovery was super easy. I had 5 small (1/4-1/2 in) incisions and was not in pain - took maybe 3-4 days to be back to normal after gas passing Good luck with your decision -
nice job, you look so much happier! Ive lost 80 and I am beyond happy with the progress, changes and overall feelings of confidence, self esteem etc. Congrats to you!
