History 4 insurance approval
VSG.02.05.18 replied to Veronica j's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Every insurance company is different. It seems like they want five years worth of proof that you are morbidly obese. Can you gather all of your medical records from the last five years and have them resubmit the authorization request? -
How do you keep from regaining weight and stretching stomach?
VSG.02.05.18 replied to ElseeG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgeon told me that while you could slightly stretch it, it is physically impossible for your stomach to ever be as big as it was. It only limits you from overeating in one sitting. If you graze all day on unhealthy foods, you will regain. -
Being in the 200’s never felt so good!
VSG.02.05.18 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my one week post op appointment and I’m so happy and thankful for this journey. It’s freaking hard and anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know what they’re talking about, but it’s so so so worth it. I weighed in today at 299. When I was younger, I never thought I’d be so happy for a number that large, but I’ve been solidly in the 300’s for six or seven years now. 299 brings literal tears of gratitude to my eyes. When I weighed in at 355 in the not so distant past and had a moment where I realized I was closer to 400 than 300, I knew I had to change if I wanted to live a healthy and happy life. I started making changes and made the decision to get weight loss surgery to stop the yo-yo dieting madness. Fast forward to my pre-op surgical clearance appointment (now three weeks ago), I weighed in at 329. So within three weeks, I have lost THIRTY pounds. My clothes are looser, my step is lighter. I’m so thankful for this tool and my program. I’ve lost weight before, but always gained it back. For the first time in my adult life, I know I can not only do this, but I can do this for life. 299 feels so freaking good... and I can’t wait to see what 199 feels like!!! -

6 months required diet tips please

I have unitedhealthcare as well, and my uhc nurse case manager told me not to worry about losing too much weight, because they will base the criteria on your starting BMI. The great thing about uhc is that the requirements are so clearly laid out! I just went to see my doctor once a month for six months, and brought the sheet with me each time, and followed my doctors instructions. I gained weight one month, the rest of the time I lost weight. I ended up losing about 30 pounds during those six months. I got approved no problem! -
My highest weight was 355! I was sleeved at 309. You’re not alone!

Me three days post op: “Dear God, will I ever poop again?” Me six days post op: “Dear God, why is there a waterfall coming out of my butt for the forth time today?” I am learning to be careful what I wish for, that’s for sure 😆 -
Stall?? Anyone else?? @2weeks post op!!
VSG.02.05.18 replied to Kf1967's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
From what everyone says, it’s normal to have stalls at any time, including within the first month. I’m newly sleeved myself, but give it a couple of weeks (or less!) and I’m sure it will get moving again. -

Are you eating only three meals a day? Start tracking your calories and see if that’s the issue.
