Has anyone been told they have gallstones but decided not to get the gallbladder removed prior to Lapband surgery? If so, have you had any problems?? Sherri

Is anyone besides me having a problem with the chat room? When I sign in I get an error saying "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computermay become unresponsive". Does anyone have any suggestions? Sherri

When do you have to start the pre-op diet, is it after you visit with the nutritionist?? I had my ultrasound yesterday and found out that I have a fatty liver. I assume I will have to go on this pre-op diet as well before surgery???? Sherri

Hi John, How is the liquid diet coming along? I'm sure it's torture! I had my ultrasound today. The tech saw gallstones which isn't great! I'm not very pleased with that. I have my last two appointments with the pysch and the nutritionist on Monday. After you got finished with all of your appointments, how long did it take for you to get an appointment with the surgeon??? I'm hoping it won't take very long! If I have to get my gallbladder removed it may push my lapband surgery back. I'm very anxious and just want to get into lapband land!! Talk soon, Sherri

HI, I was at BIDMC yesterday for my first appointment and I met a couple of people while I was waiting. I didn't get their names so hopefully they will read this. I met a woman who was in for her fill, she has lost 75 pounds and I think she said she had four kids. I also met a man yesterday who was in to see the surgeon to get his surgery date. He had black hair and glasses. He also went to the get together in Braintree. I was at the hospital with my husband and I have blonde hair. I would love to keep chatting with both of them! If you two are out there, let me know! Thanks, Sherri __________________

HI, I had my gallbladder/liver ultrasound today and found that I have gallstones. I'm so frustrated and down over this. I'm sure this will delay me getting the band because I will have to have it removed. Has anyone else gone through this? If so, was it painful, did it delay the process, what was the hospital stay etc, etc, etc. Thanks, Sherri:help:

I am having my gallbladder/liver ultrasound tomorrow morning. Other than not eating and drinking after midnight are there any other restrictions I should know about? Should I eat a light dinner? Can I take my meds in the morning or should I wait until after the test?? Sherri

HI John, You must be very excited about your surgery date on Feb 21st. I actually thought your surgery date would have been sooner than that. Are they booking out about 5 weeks? What is the reason for the semi-liquid diet? Sherri

Hi, I guess I should have checked in with my Insurance company before deciding to go ahead with the Lapband surgery. I found out today that Blue Cross doesn't cover the Lapband surgery but it does cover the gastic bypass surgery. I really didn't want to go the gastic bypass route. Has anyone else had a problem with their Insurance covering the cost? Thanks, Sherri

Hi Everyone! I want to thank all of you for all of your help and support! This website has been great for information. I plan on sending in my paperwork today to Beth Israel, hopefully my experience will be a positive one! I have heard of some people where they had band slippage. Can anyone explain to me more about that? How do you know the band has slipped, what are the symptoms? I've also heard that lap band people get a similar symptom as Gastic Bypass patients where they have "dumping". Do people with the lapband get that same symptom or something similar? Thanks!! Sherri

HI, I'm from Massachusetts and I'm seriously thinking about going with the Lapband. Can you fellow Mass residents tell me what hospital you got your surgery done at? Thanks, Sherri
