IM from NYC and theres plenty of overweight people that take good care of themselves well groomed, nails, hair etc Im one of them. I see no problem with treating someone as a sex object as long as its mutual in fact its one of my fears after losing weight. I have a problem with a addiction to food or exercise always from one extreme to another and a addiction to sex thank goodness im married but that doesnt satisfy me. Im social but always stay in safe environments school, church with family im always around people i know but im afraid of navigating the world at a lower weight I have to be honest I really try hard not to cheat I have 15 years with my husband

Do people treat you different now that you're skinny?
Marissa37 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Do people that you known treat you different? How that makes you feel? Do strangers in general treat you different? -
People have told me they have chewed and spit out the food if they really want to taste something they know they can’t eat like steak. My friend said she ate steak once and couldn’t eat for 3 1/2 days because she didn’t chew it down right so it took long for her stomach to process it. Shocking!!! Is this normal? Like a DL thing people do? Be honest please

Thanks for being honest I think a lot more people do it. Cause every person I know that has had the sleeve has told me I know 4 people 3 females 1 male and 2 of them said they do the flatsoda or a little soda with water that seems to the norm and non of them know each other. -

Older successes: any tricks to not looking too much older?
Marissa37 replied to GotProlactinoma's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My friend did the surgery and she looked older (neck wise) I was shocked that was 6 months after her surgery she was down 100 pounds now 124 pounds down and 1 year later her neck is perfect. So I think you just need to let till you skin catches up. Also your skin is an organ take care of your skin I oil myself daily and have really good skin. Olive Oil, Coconut oil, castor oil and argan oil I rub my hair, scalp, body, face, neck, arms everything feet it soaks it up I sit in my living room on a chair and soak it all up for 30 minutes or more then I shower (oh you can shave before you shower with the oil on its really good) Your Skin is an Organ look up ways to take care of it and make it part of your journey -

Marissa37 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to inject myself daily for 6 weeks with Lovenox because I had cancer and finished cancer treatment? did anyone else have to do this Why did you? And any sideeffects? The best thing I see is that Ill have no worries about blood clots so its like being extra safe cause my body has been through so much I know it will take me longer to heal. -

Soooo this actually made me cry. I too havent been able to get on rides with my 4 kids their 8,9,11 and 13 and thats their norm, their like ok moms not going on...they dont know it cause I'm fat only hubby knows that. Kids just think im scared. Little do they know in my 20's I rode front seat always. Wow like I never even thought of this I think itll be things like this that Im not thinking about right now that I'll be able to do. My goal is going to the beach every weekend and a wardrobe (I feel like the wardrobe is not such a big deal cause if I dont get it after nothing fits I'll be naked lol) -

Watching videos of your procedure pre-op
Marissa37 replied to Little Green's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I tried I couldn’t I usually watch 600 pound life and other shows but this is to intense which I’m not squimish I think because I’m doing the sleeve mentally it’ll give me anxiety so after my surgery I’ll watch the whole thing. I think it’s cool you have a video about your own surgery just saying lol -

Guilty Pleasures - Your last meal
Marissa37 replied to Marissa37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LMAO food funerals I love it I will plan accordingly -
Im a bring it on B*tches type a girl (well im from NYC) 1) Give it no power ignore her and if not rise up and tell her off. 2) She must see you as weak. I see you as a decent human being not everyone has the power to fight back you are beautiful, you are loved and you are important. 3) You cant change her you can only change yourself so dont discuss yourself with her she doesnt need to know that you had surgery if shes in your close circle of friends tell your REAL friends that this takes alot of mental work to be on this journey you will not except her negativity in you vicinity. 4) You control your world. Take it on Good luck you got this you are strong, you are beautiful, you are loved. Looking forward to Life

Hair Loss and Hair Extensions
Marissa37 replied to BJames42613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cant relate completely cause I havent had my surgery but I had cancer bought 3 wigs and never wore them I think they didnt fit my personality since im so real I felt like I had a dead rat on my head lol I rocked the bald head my husband has a shaved head we just went twinsy. With that said 90% of people rocked the wig they needed it for there confidence I say do whatever makes you comfortable. With that said our skin is an organ so we need to nourish it. I do a daily routine of olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, argan oil all over my body and scalp, feet every crevice my a$$, my neck my hair is super thick soft and my skin is tight and nourished i apply and let it soak in 30 minutes to an hour I sit in a chair with shorts and a tank in the living room so i wont get oil on my sofas i warm a towel in the dryer and wrap my hair also. Sounds like a sh*tload of work but I do more natural stuff no lotions, deoderant etc after I had cancer and my skin is flawless. TMI again my apologies Looking Forward to Life
