Today wasn't terrible! Made a chicken and veggie stir fry for dinner. Was strange not to have rice but ehhh I'll live. What's funny is that my kids (who are 11 and 14)are thrilled with the dinners I have planned this week [emoji23][emoji23]. Their enthusiasm for salmon and broccoli is quite hilarious. I started my 2 week diet today. Surgery is the 20th (yes, I know I started a day late). Mine is 3 or 4 protein shakes a day, a protein bar for break through hunger if needed, a "lean green" dinner. So basically chicken, fish or lean beef and veggies. Tonight it will be salmon and broccoli. I don't have a set portion size for the veggies. At least 64ozs of clear liquids a day. I started my 2 week pre op diet today. Feeling good but it's only noon lol. We'll see how I'm doing in a few days. I know it's just temporary. I am allowed one lean protien/veggies meal a day. I had my preop appointment today. Everything is paid for and now I'll have met my out of pocket for the year! I was a little nervous because I'm on day 3 of antibiotics for strep throat but they said I'll be fine for surgery on the 20th. Start my liquid diet on Thursday. For me it's because of my acid reflux. I know a lot of overweight people have reflux that goes away with weight loss but mine is just hereditary. I have had reflux since I was 16. I was 115 lbs. It's been a while since I've checked this thread. Congrats to everyone who has their date! My insurance does a predetermination of benefits that takes forever then the approval takes a day or two. My predetermination was finished 2 days ago so I'm just waiting for my surgeon's office to call and set my official date. I'm wanting to have it June 20th. Hope to have the day nailed down by Friday! My insurance doesn't require a lot of steps but they were beneficial. I had to do 3 classes at my surgeons office and they were great. My nut consult was good too. I also needed a letter of support from my doctor and a psych eval. The psych eval was an in person interview and a few written tests. Today I finished up the tests. All I have left are 3 classes that I'll be doing on Tues at my surgeons office and one more visit to the psychologist. I did the initial interview but I have to do a test also and insurance has to approve it. Once that's done it's all being submitted to insurance. Still hoping for June!
