I'm honestly shocked at how good I feel. I try to have a protien shake everyday and sometimes they don't sit good but it's not awful. It's worst in the morning until I drink something, then it gets better. Yours? Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm pretty sure our surgeries were really close (mine was the 20th) and that's about what I'm getting ounce wise too. And don't tell my Dr but I use a straw 🤣🤣. It helps me get my ounces and I don't suck down air. I get more gas pain without one. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Glad they let you stay! Just know that it gets easier every day. They first few days are so hard. Day 5 I really started feeling better. Welcome to your new life! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!

Don't trust that feeling that you can drink as much as you want. My 3rd day after surgery I took a few extra sips of water and almost hurled. Didn't actually puke but had that tons of spit run to the toilet moment. I'm a week out now and my "full" doesn't feel like it used to. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I also had some crystal light for my water. Other that that I packed pretty much the same as you have planned. Oh flip flops. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Thinking strongly about Gastric Bypass
Trixie82 replied to Erin18's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Many years ago I had wanted a lap band because of all the same fears of bypass. Insurance wouldn't cover it so I just didn't do anything. Pretty sure that was a blessing in disguise. I just had bypass 5 days ago and I almost had a breakdown in preop because I was scared. I got through it and now I'm doing really good. I wish I hadn't waited so long. I think with any major life altering surgery it's normal to be scared. Go to a seminar. If you change your mind it's OK! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -

They didn't tell me my levels. I'm sure it's just dehydration. I've switched to the g2 Gatorade and its helped a lot. Now I've just got to get some kind of calories down. I have absolutely no interest in food right now. After I finish these last 4 ozs of gatoraid I'm going to start on a protien shake. We'll see how that goes. My program addressed this issue in the post op note. It says wait a week and then follow the "if it hurts don't do it" rule lol Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I haven't tried the propel. I'll get some tomorrow. I had an iv bag with lots of vitamins and stuff in it but I was only in the hospital overnight. As nice as it's been to be home I kinda wish I had stayed another night. I'm feeling better now, just had a mini pity party for a little bit lol Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm doing good. Started to get cramps in my calves so I switched from water to g2 Gatorade. Making sure to drink an ounce every 15 minutes or so. I'm just really really tired. Still a little sore. Drank too much water too fast and almost threw up earlier today. I hate feeling so useless. I'm gonna go to bed now lol Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm doing better than I expected to be. Got a little cocky earlier and took an extra sip of water after taking a pill and almost threw up. But overal my pain is getting better. Need to drink more. I'm getting about 32-40 ozs a day. How are you now that you are home? I'm taking lots of naps lol Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Just FYI the struggle is real. Earlier today I sipped too much water too fast and almost threw up. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I was on a Tylenol drip that wasn't working for several hours and a pca with morphine I could hit every 10 min. I also got 2 doses of liquid Norco. I was sent home with giant Tylenol 3 pills. I took one and almost threw it up so I called the surgeon's office to see if there were other options and his nurse called in liquid Tylenol 3 for me. I also have Zofran that is dissolvable. I've been drinking out of either one or two ounce cups. It helps me slow down and not drink so fast. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
My husband was cracking up about my pillow fort I surrounded myself with. I've been napping in a recliner today and I'll be sleeping here tonight. Much more comfy. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

New & need suggestions

I had my husband go buy me a recliner to sleep in because laying flat sucks. Do you have a belly wrap? That would help even more. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
