  1. I’m 4 weeks post-op and sweets and chocolate which were my goto in the past just are not appealing any more. I don’t crave them and I can only take 1 bite of sugar free puddings or any thing like that. I know that your taste can change after surgery, anyone else feel this way. It’s actually a good thing for me, I hope it stays this way I’ve had a really bad relation ship with these foods in the past.

    Process Timeframe??

My first consult with surgeon was Jan 29 and my surgery date was July 10. This included my surgeon being on vacation and my paperwork being lost in there office which delayed insurance.

    Calorie intake

I’m 3.5 weeks and lucky to get 650 calories. So I guess the surgery is effective. I would like a few more calories, any tips from you Alumni would be great.
  4. Bulk at Costco and 4 paks at Walmart. Be careful with muscle milk some of there products like powders can also be milk protein concentrate. I would just by a 4 pak to see if you can tolerate them. Walmart also has the new whey protein shots.

    Protein drinks

The only premier protein water I was able to get down was the lemonade. I’ve tried others as well and will not buy again. I’m sticking to shakes and new whey protein shots.
  6. Ha... missed your sleeve date, same as mine.
  7. Same here, I drank premier the first 3 weeks then I had to stop. Premier has milk protein concentrate. I switched to muscle milk it is milk protein isolate. I called my nutritionist before the switch and she said this is very common for someone to become somewhat intolerant to milk products . I also tried evolve it is a pea protein soluble not as tasty as muscle milk but did not upset my stomach.

    BARRETTS DISEASE

Does the RNY seem to extreme for the 100 or so pounds I need to lose, I guess in the long term I would benefit from not worrying about the gerd that may be attributing to the Barrett’s, I’ve been taking Prilosec for past 10 years without any symptoms so this is a real surprise. Thank you all for the feedback.
  10. Was considering the sleeve but endoscopy reveled I have Barrett’s. My findings are many surgeons won’t sleeve a patient with Barrett’s. Have not reviewed with my surgeon yet, my BMI is 40 with multiple comorbidity. CW 280, 5’9 GW is 170. I know I still need to review with my surgeon but I’m not sure if RNY is right for me. Looking for any feedback from the community. Thank you.
