How often do you weigh in?

I weigh daily - every morning after a bathroom stop (TMI). I have been consistent. I am starting to relax about stalls and minor fluctuation, Last week was tough, as I was on vacation, and our vacation house didn't have a scale. I was worried all week!

    Non Scale Victories

I climbed 10 flights of stairs in 3 minutes without stopping. I did this twice! Afterwards I did interval training on the treadmill for 15 min with squats then 40 minutes on the weight loss interval training program level 10 for 40 min on the elliptical.
  3. I had help from my hubby for about a week. The main thing I needed assistance with was the blood thinner shots I had to be on for 10 days. I could have done them myself, but I preferred to have someone else do it.

    Look what I just saw

Is it bad for me to say I wish I had a negative reinforcement that would keep me in check?

    3 month stall?

I have been stuck the last couple of weeks myself but my inches have been dropping. I am around 4 months. It is pretty normal and it shall pass.

How often do you weigh yourself?

Daily for me. I like to see what is going on. When I plateau I find my inches are going down.

    I'm in a Size 10! woot woot!

Congrats! I am so glad you are feeling healthy and energized. What an accomplishment.
  9. Okay so I have hit another 2 week plateau so I asked my trainer to take my measurements. I get too hung up on what the scale says and it really messes with my head. The measurements really help me keep all my hard work in perspective. I surely have am proud of this.

I Love to See my Measurements Dropping!

Well the hubby takes all of the measurements and the personal trainer at work only does certain ones. I need to ask my hubby to do a new round as I am very curious about what has changed in 2 months.

    Hair Loss

My hair is steadily falling out now as well. Not as bad as some others on here but it is surely thinning. I keep reminding myself that it isn't as bad as when I went bald due to breast cancer treatments (see picture below from 2012). My melon was always cold and just had a little fuzz on it - mostly the white stuff that I DO want to fall out and not come back. I don't know how guys pull off that bald look all the time - they must have lots of hats.
  12. Yesterday I had a close friend warn me about not working out "too much". I work with a personal trainer 2x/week and I get about a total of 75 - 90 min of exercise 3 days a week. All in all I think I should be doing MORE. I wasn't sure how to react other than thanking them for their concern but my doctor approved my workout plan. This person has been very supportive, has given me 4 bags of smaller sized clothing to help me on my journey. I try not to talk about my workouts in general as people don't want to really hear about it if they aren't also working out. It is interesting how those that support you the most also don't really understand what is required to make this program work.

Nobody who has not done this can understand how nothing we are doing is "easy".

      keep up the great work.

    Psych eval

I would make the drive. I would hate for you to run into any obstacles if another doctor words something not quite right.
  14. I had sleeve and really didn't feel any restriction until I was on solids.

    I want to cry

I was so sensitive to smells post surgery. After a couple of week that started to fade. Vitamins still bother my stomach, but I did liquids as mentioned above. I did take a couple week break from them on my surgeon's orders when I was having my worst issues with them. Now I am able to take vitamins pills. Keep the faith, it will get easier.
  17. Today I am officially halfway to the goal weight that I have set for myself. I have lost a total of 84 lbs and I have 84 more to lose to get to my goal. Trying to celebrate the small wins.

Congrats girl! I'm rooting for you :)

  18. I am struggling right now.  I am working out 4.5 hours a week and it hasn't felt good for the last 2 weeks.  Feels more like a chore and I don't know why.  I am still going but it has been a fight. Corresponding to this I have also been wanting to eat - eat everything we aren't supposed to eat. I have held back for the most part but I have splurged - full sugar vanilla pudding cup, I had a chocolate chip cookie and tortillas. I even stopped tracking my food. I am back on track, but I feel really down right now. I am already seeing someone, and it helps, but wow I am not feeling like myself. I am hoping this is a passing phase. I don't want these feelings to continue. Sigh...

    Weight loss depression

I think that if you are asking the question it can be real. I see someone once a week to discuss my challenges and it help keep me on course. In my humble opinion, depression after such a huge change in lifestyle is real. It surely couldn't hurt to follow up with a professional. The two of you can determine what course of action works best for you. Hang in there.

    Vacation 8 weeks post op

Sounds like an amazing trip! I wasn't allowed to swim/bathe for 6 weeks while until my incisions were fully healed. I recommend asking your surgeon. The water activities may be too much for your stomach as it requires a lot of core. Definitely a surgeon question.
  22. After a week at home. I could NOT take it anymore. My surgeon approved it as well.

    Non Scale Victories

Today I was able to wrap a standard size towel around all of me after my shower today. I can't remember the last time I was able to do that. I am super happy about this NSV.

What is a realistic WL monthly target?

My doctor gave me an average. He said many people lose between 10 - 20 lbs a month. He added the caveat that doesn't happen for everyone. It is dependent on the person, how much they have to lose, etc. I tend to get hung up on the scale and the numbers but now if I see I don't drop any pounds for a few days, I am not so obsessed with it. Trust me, I was obsessed - weighing myself multiple times/day. Inches are coming off when I am not losing. I am eating correctly and am exercising and I feel great. As long as you follow the program, you will lose.
