Hey Argon: No its not a pbing prob, I went to the doctor because everything I eat stays in my system not very long and I am running to the washroom(sorry for that image) but they are running some test to see whats going on, he does not think it is anything to do with the lapband, but the dumping syndrome I looked in my book that was given to me and basically it says pretty much the same thing thats why I was wondering if it only happens right after surgery or not. Do you exercise? I have a treadmill and I use it everyday, I do 2 miles most days and I walk my dog, I am pretty busy. Cheers SherriBerry

Hi Argon: I had my first fill 2 months after my surgery, he told me I was doing just fine which I thought was weird it made me wonder why I had the surgery LOL!. The eating thing, well...... I usually eat 3 times a day with a small snack inbetween, I honestly dont know how to eat, pretty sad, I am hopeing to get back on track I really want to lose probably another 65 or 70 pounds that would be great. Can you give me an idea what you eat in a day? I appreciate any info you can give me. I was having a few probs but found out yesturday they are not related to my banding. Cheers Sherri

Hi Argon: Yes I had my surgery about a year ago and I have lost around 65 pounds and have not lost in some time now. My husband is in the military and we were posted from Alberta to Ontario, a very small base here with very little doctors, and virtually none that know anything about lapband fills. I am going to Ottawa in the new year, I found a doctor there that will do a fill for $75.00 which is great. Regarding the dumping syndrome, when I was discharged a dietician came into my room and gave me a bunch of info, I had my surgery on wednesday morning and they sent me home thursday morning and I was feeling pretty rough and pretty much everything she said I did not absorb. I only saw Dr.Davey 2 times after my surgery, once for my postop and once for a fill, he would come once a month to the hospital in Bonnyville and see patients. I hope that gives you a bit of info. Cheers

Hey Ousooner: I was given a pamphlet on dumping syndrome after I was banded, the only thing is it does not give a whole lot of info., I was told by the nurse before I was released that dumping syndrome could happen, I was just wondering if it only happens right after or it can happen anytime. cheers

How Do You Take Medications?
sherriberry replied to mslynn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I take medication everyday and it has never been a problem, I have only had one fill, 4cc and so far so good, just make sure you drink lots of water with them. -

Hey Carol: I have called around, I went into one office he is a specialist that looks after people with intestinal probs and such, no luck. The only way around it I guess is to go back to Alberta and live with my daughter for 3 months until my health care kicks in and get a fill and move back here with my family. Thanks for all your help! Sherri -
Bands eroded, slipped or still successful bands?
sherriberry replied to PamRN's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This might be a dumb question but how would you know if you have eroded or if the band had slipped? Sherri -

Well the whole problem is that I had my surgery in another province, I called the Clinic in Toronto and she basically told me that I would have to pay 5000.00 to have my life time fills, and that she was not even sure if the doctor would help me because he did not do the surgery, she said alot of doctors will not touch other peoples surgery's. I am not sure what to do but I would like to be able to continue my weight loss, I went through alot to even get the surgery. I called my Alberta Doctor and left several messages and have never heard back, I think my next step will be to send him off a letter. Sherri -
I am new and I am wondering how you know if you have eroded or not. Sherri

Hi Carol: Thanks for the info, I am curious where you are living, I am in North Bay, and I had my surgery in Alberta, I am not sure if I can get that kind of help because it is hard to get a family doctor here. Thanks for getting back to my I really appreciate it. Sherri
