Carbs are important for good health and avoiding early death

There is a lot of studies that come to a variety of conclusions. I do want this one to be true though, because I find low carb unsustainable. -

Actually was pretty proud of myself. Had at least a little of everything, EXCEPT the pasta, left that untouched. I should have eaten more of the chicken, but, ugh, chicken bores me. -

I'd love to just be able to eat normal-ish, just in small quantities. That is my dream 😍 We'll just have to see how realistic that is. Glad you had a good time on the road trip! Are those in the San Antonio area? It's a beautiful time of the year right now. I feel like everywhere I've been the past few weeks has been perfect fall (well, except Hawaii ) Hope it is no biggie and you heal up quick like! -

That's interesting. I definitely would not get along with your team. I'm not a breakfast eater, and generally can't hit my protein goals without a shake, or some kind of protein supplement. -

Looks delicious. Why is your team insistent on you eating breakfast though? -

Airplane food .... Halibut on some spinach pasta (Halibut was delicious! Totally shocking, lol!) I swear I know this is a Bariatric food forum, not Flyertalk . But when traveling, I rarely eat alone except at the airport or on the plane. Not like I can really take pics at a business dinner. And at home I only serve what I know I can eat, so I have no after pics. -

Ok, good to know, thanks! Maybe I'll actually be home at some point, and I won't be so scared of it. I'm still traumatized by the cauliflower rice I kept reading didn't taste like cauliflower. Lies! -

This is not my experience, and I don't know if I'm grateful or resentful! I can literally eat anything, nothing makes me feel ill, at all. If I wasn't so embarrassed, I'd post my MFP log from last week when I was at a trade show. It was literal junk food for 3 days straight. I was 100% fine and loved every bite -

Hello ... Checking in! @Matt Z I love that IF is working for you! So awesome your so close to your goal! You can totally do it! @FluffyChix Oh, sorry you're not feeling well! Did the Dr. figure it out yet? Did you go anywhere fun on the BD road trip? Glad though you're down, that's awesome at least! Even if it doesn't make any sense! As for me ... not on vacay yet ... 1.5 weeks away! Busy work travel week. Traveling with someone all week, so no IF, 3 meals a day, plus drinks. Funny thing is it actually feels like it's not all out of control, compared to the last two weeks. Two weeks ago I was eating fried noodles, shaved ice loco moco and mac salad,. Last week I ate everything sold at convenience stores, most especially anything on those rollers (I love roller food, gah!), and a heavy emphasis on pizza and fried chicken as well.. So just a normal breakfast, lunch and dinner schedule with a few drinks feels like I'm behaving, lol. We'll see what the scale says about it when I get back home. I suspect that alcohol might have a bigger affect on my weight than food. But as we know, it's not linear, so it's hard to know for certain. -

Hello! Awfully quiet in here .. Well, I have fantastic news! Despite eating like crap for an entire work week .... the scale was down. It was down both Saturday morning and this morning! So, I'm excited to think maybe, just maybe, maintenance won't be so terribly difficult, when I get there? -

Eating on the road (Travel)
sillykitty replied to CyclicalLoser's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I travel for work nearly weekly. Same, all of the US, and stay at Marriotts. I started back to work travel at 3 weeks post op. I personally don't worry about it too much. Nearly everywhere has good, lean, protein choices. Sometimes I make good choices, sometime I don't. I have an iron stomach, nothing bothers me, so I really eat everything. Why no red meat? -
Premier Protein – Not Premier for Bariatric Patients!
sillykitty replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Alex .... Honest question here. If you have such concerns about Premier Protein, why do you still sell Genepro. The Genepro issues are much more serious, and the company that makes Genepro has behaved seriously unethically, IMO. I also don't think the Premier Protein issues are so terrible. 26-29 g of protein vs. 30 g. That is a 3-13% discrepancy. Although not ideal, not the worst either (i.e. Genepro). And casein & milk protein concentrate vs. whey protein isolate. Are there any studies saying whey protein is superior? Not all of us have bypasses. Even with bypasses, just because casein is absorbed more slowly, does it mean it is absorbed less completely?
