Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
sillykitty replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Me! Me! Me! I knew I would have plastics from day one. I always saw this as a two step process, WLS & plastics. I had originally planned for plastics this Fall. But that's not an option now due to my work travel schedule. In looking at my schedule next year, there is no way I can plan enough down time for recovery, until Mid November. I confirmed that next Fall my schedule should be more flexible than this one. I even gave my boss a heads up and got his support on the non-travel time. I figure I will need a week or less of actual sick time, considering I work from home. Funny, my boss does not know about my WLS, but I have no issue telling him about plastics . I HATE having to wait a year, because I'm not a patient person, but it is what it is. Knowing I'm not having plastics for a year has led me to being more relaxed about my weight loss. I'm not in a mad rush to get to goal. I like the way I look in clothes. In a few more pounds I'll get to a normal BMI. I think I'll be happy at around 140, once plastics tightens everything up. I don't want to go lower, I don't think, because I don't want to lose my a$$ Additionally, I'm dating someone right now, who seems pretty ok with how I look naked . So that also takes some of the pressure off to get "fixed" right away. Procedures Breast augmentation & lift - gummy bear tear drop implants, natural looking D-DD Tummy tuck - may not need muscle repair, since I've never been pregnant Lipo - back, flanks, thighs Inner thigh lift - I don't want the long thigh lift scars. This surgery is the most daunting for recovery, and risks associated. Arm lift - crescent or modified T, again, I don't want the long scars Neck lift - this is secondary after the plastics above, maybe in a few years I'd really really love to get all of the body procedures done at once. But I'm not sure if that is possible. It's just so hard to get the time to recover with my job, I'd like to only have to do it once, IYKWIM? The good thing is I have tons of great plastic surgeons local to me, so I'm spoiled in that respect. Ok, what procedures does everyone else want?? -
Could do worse ... the Dr.'s are hot and seem to have no ethical issues with cardio with patients
-
Some see a hospital bed ... others see a jungle gym for grown ups!
-
Totally possible with that foot ..... just saying ....
-
Yay! I think there might be some cardio in your future!

Oh no! Oil and carbs combined can make even my iron tummy complain (hush puppies and I no longer get along ) . Any update?

I was there a couple of week's ago Matt. I thought I had reached my set point, and was pretty unmotivated. But low and behold, scale is moving in the right direction again. So there is still hope, even when we et close to goal -

Can you imagine how much more I would be down if I was in town more often and had more time for cardio?? -

Ok ... tons of this thread to catch up on! I'm here .... not currently IF-ing due to work travel/meetings. Not eating well either, cause, just cause . But, despite all that, I was down, as I posted the other day, and I was down again right before I left on this trip. We'll see what the scale says when I'm back home. I'm really crazy excited about about that, not just for the loss. I'm hopeful that my prolonged super low cals (sub 500) didn't wreck my metabolism. For weeks now I've been well over 1000 cals/day on avg, some days even over 2000 cals . And I've been able to maintain and or lose at those cals. That honestly gives me so much hope for long term sustainability, and quality of life. -

I'm here! I mean I'm not IF-ing right now, but I'm here! Glad you're getting the potassium issue fixed @FluffyChix. Any word on the tummy troubles issue? I just don't have a lot to report. Heading home from my work trip. Just general medium bad level of eating. This weekend, the highlight will be a date, but then just family obligations, chores, errands. Meh, I'm boring lately! -

Alex ... from the article " Whether rapid versus slow uptake of amino acids are better for protein gain among bariatric patients have not been explored." There was absolutely nothing in that article that supports the claim that casein is inappropriate for RNY patients. -

Lol ... glad you like them. Be warned, it'll be hard to go back to other shrimp! Your meals are still way fancier than my chunk o' cheese, even without the vinaigrette! -

I take potassium pills on vacay, because lots of walking causes my calves to cramp. (I'm sure part of this issue is dehydration too. But who wants to constantly be looking for a restroom on vcation?) -

No offense Alex, but just because one Dr. has that opinion does not make it a proven fact. There might be a study in the works on this issue http://www.trialregister.nl/trialreg/admin/rctview.asp?TC=6637 I could not find any completed studies, so this is Dr. roller's conjecture. The RNY bypassed just 3 feet of the small intestine, but still leaves 17. So it doesn't make sense to me that would make casein an ineffective source of protein for bypass patients. -

Oh no @FluffyChix! Well the good news is potassium is an easy and cheap supplement to take! Oh, and I LOVE Argentinian Red Shrimp! It's the only shrimp I ever buy to cook at home. Your salad looks delish! -

I should have read through the entire thread before posting the above. Having a range of values for anything on a nutrition label is completely normal. That is just a part of the food manufacturing process. I agree that this is a bs lawsuit. This does not rise to the level of false advertising IMO. On a separate note, I also disagree that casein is inappropriate for WLS patients, and that whey is superior. -

I think the difference between this and Genepro is the level of inaccuracy. Premier was found to have 26-29 g of protein, vs. the claimed 30 g. That is not a HUGE discrepancy like Genepro. Additionally Genepro promotes all this IMO, fake science about medical grade protein etc.. I'd be curious to know more about the 26-29 g of protein range. If it was mostly in the 26 g range, then that's more of an issue. If it was mostly in the 29 g range, that' an entirely different story. -
I don't like ghost pepper level spice. But I started eating spicy foods within two weeks, had no issues with it.
