  1. Alright ... don't sign a long term contract until you find out the elliptical isn't busted!
  2. Wait, wait ... I thought you were boo'd up?? You don't sign up for a gym membership with getting a day pass and make sure all the equipment is in working order and meets your specifications, do you?
  3. Do you test your insulin levels? Could you maybe test it out and see if there is an increase? Be our guinea pig?

    I don't think I'm ready ):

I agree with you, from this and previous posts, you're not ready. You are focused on what you will give up, instead of what you will gain. No one can make you want your health, weight loss, mobility, etc., more than you want a pastry. Hopefully you will get there one day.
  5. Thanks ... BUT, only home for two days this week. Tonight starts my Pasta, Wine & Gelato vacay!!!! 😍
  6. 3rd date is generally known as cardio date
  7. Meh ... Fire isn't an issue if you live in an urban area like I do, the key is more houses, less trees! Earthquakes, they've talked about "the big one" literally my whole life, and so far so good.
  8. What, oh no, now I need to find out when cashew season is ... Nicaragua is already on my to do list!
  9. You got there the hard way, but congrats!
  10. I'm looking forward to getting back on track after vacay. It is an amazing feeling to feel so satisfied on so little!
  11. @Matt Z & @GreenTealael What is this rain and snow thing you speak of ...?
  12. Amateur hour compared to my trade show roller grill food binge!
  13. @FluffyChix ... so sorry to hear about your gallbladder! What's the plan for it, meds, removal, tbd?
  14. You guys are too funny. I've never been regular in my whole life, and never even thought anything about it, until I joined this site I'm actually grateful, can you imagine with my travel and time zone changes? Those poor people on my 6 am flight

Did you tell your new partner you had WLS?

I was dating someone when I started considering surgery, and only told them once my surgery was approved and scheduled. ( I had no pre-op diet, so my process was quick). We stopped seeing each other shortly after my WLS for unrelated reasons. We then started dating again. He gave me no reason to believe he was any more or less attracted to me +/- 70 or so lbs. It ultimately didn't work out, but again, unrelated to WLS. After that I intended to not date until I got to goal and had plastics. But someone interesting contacted me on a dating site and I decided to go with it. I was about 70 lbs lighter than the pics on my dating profile. Before we went out I sent him some current full body pics, so he get the an idea I had lost weight, but didn't say anything. On our second date we had dinner, and he noticed how little I ate, so I told him about my WLS. I kept it positive and light, and he just asked a couple of not very probing questions. We've been dating 3 months now. It's honestly, pretty great. We've talked more extensively about my WLS. I asked him about the body type he is attracted to. He said he likes curves, and the exact size of those curves he's flexible about. I have no reason to doubt that's true, as he contacted me thinking I was larger, and is dating me now that I'm smaller. Couple of thoughts ... "she thinks it would be better to start dating someone before I lost the weight, so I know they care about me no matter my size." Time goes so fast. My advice is don't put your life on hold for some point in the future where you will meet such and such goal. After you lose the weight, will you want to wait for plastics? It's easy to let time fly by and feeling like your in some kind of holding pattern. Just embrace who you are, put yourself out there and see what happens "Did you mention it in your dating profile?" IMO, that's a bit much for a dating profile. Just bring it up when you feel it is natural, it should happen early on. That will screen out people that have an issue with it. I think you are overthinking this a little. @Ed_NW ... I think that is a bit pessimistic, and that has not been my experience.

    Dating

Yay!! Count down to cardio time .... As far as visually appealing goes ... we all have types. There are definitely men I wouldn't date based upon their physical appearance. So I can't really hold it against someone for doing the same thing, can I?

    Dating

Nooo ... you don't want that .... If there is a good way to bring it up, just go for it IMO. For me, every time .."You didn't eat much, was it ok? Was something wrong?" If I like the guy and see potential, I just say I had WLS, and don't have a lot of stomach capacity. I keep it light and positive and low on details. If I don't like the guy I just make up some reason like my stomach is off, late lunch, etc.. I figure it is good screening, if he's scared off by my WLS, better to know sooner rather than later. And this is coming from someone who is fanatical about keeping it a secret at work. So I'm not of the opinion to just tell everyone.

    Dating

I usually say something on my first date that is a meal, if I feel like there is potential with the guy. How little I can eat is always noticed, so I figure it's an opportunity to just get it out there.
