I wonder if it is an insurance coverage issue? If it was just your OB's opinion, I'd be changing OB's

You have lost 32 lbs in 6 weeks. Seems like it is working to me

Unfortunately not on the menu for me this week

Oh, I love the Peking duck idea! You can have Del Frisco's any night of the year. Booo, Mr. F's friends!

There's always next year!

I'm also the same person who will eat a convenience store hot dog, and a $75 steak ... the same day. So I easily slide between low brow and high brow

One of my favorite anecdotes is when a a good looking colleague of mine says in a great southern drawl .... "Girl, you look amazing, you must have lost 30 lbs!" I said, "Yeah, something like that" It was actually 75 lbs at that point Most people have no idea how much others really weigh! -

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
sillykitty replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I've been doing pretty strict IF for the last two weeks, I think? I don't know, since my second to last work trip whenever the h*ll that was! I've really been doing it because I've been super busy. Work is insane right now. I've had mornings full of conference calls, can't eat if you're stuck on the phone for hours on end. Then week long meeting, and I just skipped breakfast. Then weekends have been busy with errands, chores and parties, no eating until midday, or even dinner sometimes. Boom, easy IF! Scale is continuing to tick downward. Maybe it's IF? Maybe it's still my honeymoon period? Maybe it's my restriction? Not sure, but whatever it is, I'll take it! -

Don't be too hard on yourself. We all have those days. The important thing is it doesn't become everyday. Sometime we just have to get things out of our system. A while back ago I was visiting a city that has a restaurant with some of my favorite food in the world. I ordered delivery to my hotel and ate it for the next two days. I didn't eat because I was hungry, I ate because it was delicious and I wanted to keep eating it. But I got it out of my system, and I don't even feel guilty about it because it had no overall effect on my weight loss. -
Harder Than Expected, and Easier Than Expected?

Premier Protein's situation isn't comparable. PP had 26.8 and 28.3 grams of protein vs. the 30 grams advertised. In the lawsuit against Genepro claimed they had only 10 grams when they advertised 30, and Genepro didn't dispute that claim. -
What's everyone up to today and tomorrow? Tonight our Xmas eve tradition is about half the family gathers and we have a casual dinner of tamales. Easy and yummy. We are not Mexican, but native Southern Californians, so are doing the cultural appropriation thing. I made individual flans for tonight. We will talk about going to midnight mass, but then never actually go (soo late, long day, early morning ) Tomorrow I head over to my mom's house in the morning. I make a traditional Xmas Nutmeg and Sherry cake for breakfast. We will open presents, listen to Xmas music, have mimosas, eat leftover tamales. Usually my aunt and uncle will be staying at my mom's but this year they aren't coming down, so it will just be the two of us. (I'm my mom's only child). We'll make my mom's assigned side together (Festive Onions, yum!). She doesn't know it yet, but she is going to help me make apple pie. peeling and coring all those apples is a b*tch . It'll be a dutch apple pie, because I don't have the pastry skills @Sosewsue61 has! I made pecan pie this morning. I always do one new dessert. I was going to do individual Zabaglione Tarts, as I fell in love with Zabalione in Rome. But the custard came out pretty wine-y. So I may have to go out and buy more eggs for a redo. I think I will cook the alcohol out of the wine this time. So it'll have the marsala flavor, without the alcohol burn. Then it will be Xmas dinner at my aunt's house. My uncle makes delicious smoked Prime Rib, so that is serious yum. But, can I be petty for a second? I like the traditional sides I serve when I do Prime Rib better, potatoes au gratin, creamed spinach, corn casserole, glazed carrots and most importantly, Yorkshire pudding. There is no Prime Rib without Yorkshire Pudding! I'm not sure what her sides will be, but I know there won't be most of those Ok, everyone else ... spill!

I think that's a good idea, it's just a fine line to not be "that person" and be overbearing or preachy. I'm always afraid of crossing that line. I'm with O&D though. I've had expensive water, and store brand water, and it's all just water to me.

Did you try the same brand you liked in the past? Eggnog has gone down hill, most just taste like sweet milk now days . There are only two brands locally I even bother with. Of course the grocery stores I've been in lately don't carry those brands .... sigh .... no eggnog for me this year ....

That's is such an awesome feeling! Congrats!

So much to catch up on! Laxative tea question .... like @ElectricBoogaloo ... I'm not regular, but never constipated, if that makes sense. I go irregularly, sometimes a few days in a row, then sometimes twice in a week. But I never feel uncomfortable even if it has been days. My first laxative I ever took was mag citrate to clear me out before WLS! That was not fun, so I'm good with my irregular self. As I've mentioned, I have an ex who's a GI. When I had too much to drink one night I worked up the nerve to ask him if going only twice a week was a problem. He assured me that as long as it's not a change, and I don't have any discomfort, it's fine, and what's normal for me. I do think that slow motility (his term) is connected to weight gain. I think foods sit around longer in me, and more calories get absorbed vs. someone who cycles food in/out in 12 hrs. That's just my theory though. Google tells me nothing conclusive on the topic

I agree O&D, just smile and lie, not like they'll be able to tell a 10 lb difference! Families are funny. At Thanksgiving a cousin's wife who I hadn't seen in 6 months, walks in the door and says "You ....................... cut your hair!" Lol, yeah, that's the big difference in my appearance ! (I mean she obviously knew it wasn't my hair but was thought I might be offended if she mentioned my weight loss, I guess). I have an aunt whom I told early on, when my losses started showing. She just keeps asking how much I have lost. I've shared that with only a small group of people, and don't intend on telling her. I just keep dodging the question, but she's not deterred, she keeps asking me and my mom as well. -

Genepro has been sued, and lost for lying about their protein content, they didn't even bother to show up in court to defend themselves. A very shady and deceptive company. https://casetext.com/case/si03-inc-v-musclegen-research-inc -

Beano is a god send. You just need to take 3-4 pills right before you eat, just one will not work. The Walmart generic is absolutely useless, so don't bother with buying those. -
I take these, were recommended by my surgeon's PA. I buy them off Amazon

Tons of fresh seafood, and smoked salmon as well. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon is a standard breakfast offering, and pretty perfect for us, BPs.
