hunger pains less than 2 weeks post op?

This sounds like stomach acid. Are you on a PPI? -
hunger pains less than 2 weeks post op?
sillykitty replied to Tfarr38's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think anyone on here dismisses head hunger. There is just different ways to deal with physical hunger vs. stomach acid vs. head hunger. Early post op, it is more likely to be head hunger or stomach acid vs. physical hunger. A raw sutured stomach isn't likely to be hungry, but over production of stomach acid is common, and being honest, most of us who have WLS have significant issues with cravings and head hunger. -
5 days post op—the things they did not tell me

That sounds like head hunger vs. physical hunger. Surgery has no effect on cravings. -
I don’t think there is a norm. Many people can tolerate leafy greens early on, and many others cannot. I don’t think one is more normal than the other.

Eating out or at others homes...
sillykitty replied to DanieHall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The good news is, there is always something reasonably healthy to eat on every menu, although it might take a few tweaks The bad news is, IME, for the first year my capacity was so restricted I always attracted attention because of how little I ate. Just expect it and be ready with an answer! -
Are you on a PPI? Rumbling tummy can be acid, not hunger.

I had no ore op diet so I spent the two weeks between approval and surgery having food funerals. I had home made tacos, take out Chinese, burgers etc. All things I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat for months. No regrets!

You look fantastic! But you gave up yogurt 😭😭

I’d suggest Beano for the gas. I find it really works. But you have to take 4+ pills at the start of the meal. I think some people who say it doesn’t work just take 1

How long did you keep logging meals?
sillykitty replied to Jobber's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm similar. It's a habit, and not a chore for me to log at all. I eat a very varied diet, and have no eating routine, so it's important to me, to see where I approximately come in at for calories and protein each day. I'm new to maintenance, so it keeps me honest, along with weighing myself. It also lets me know about what my BMR is at currently. -
Have a safari slated for 2020 or 2021, but won't be luxury (but can't be a budget safari either ... shudder 😨) Little concerned about cell service. My job isn't well suited to being out of touch for extended amounts of time. 😟

Benefits of working from home, I wear a fuzzy robe over my t shirt and leggings. I'm sure my UPS guy thinks I'm insane

Cheese ... you get to eat all the cheese! 😋

Shallow lesson, but a lesson nonetheless .... I can't keep copy cat thin mints or savory rice cakes in the house. I have no self control with these two items.

Does not having learned any lessons this week make me shallow, or something? Mountain climber done (it was tough!), just need to get my walk in today. B-side - Luxury African safari where I see ALL the animals!

If it were my body I'd roll the dice, but the bf already having these odds, "1.7 times more likely to be diagnosed with—and 2.3 times more likely to die from—prostate cancer". The chia benefits don't seem to outweigh even a potential elevated risk factor. -

Oh man, without someone to share them with, I can't imagine I'll ever get through very many I won't roll the dice on the potential cancer link for the bf. He already has the odds stacked against him with his race. -
Yes .... sorry

ok, thanks @GreenTealael, @FluffyChix & @ms.sss I'll give it another shot. The bf is on a eat healthier kick, so he'd probably be excited if I made it for him. How long does it hold up? Could I make a batch over the weekend and individually portion out a few days worth? (Should I warn him about the pooping benefits/consequences? 🤣) -

@GreenTealael, @FluffyChix @ms.sss Explain to me this chia seed thing! I have them, I made pudding once. It was fine. It was perfectly, fine. But at 60 cals/tbls?? It just seems like a lots of cals for fine .... What am I missing? -
