    My Plastic Surgery Thread

I'm actually staying at my mom's over Xmas. We get home late on the 23rd. We're doing some gift wrapping on the 24th, then off to family dinner on the 25th. I figure on the 26th I'll be all healed up enough to drive and head home.

Back from the surgeon's. Said everything looked great, and healing according to schedule. Removed the 3 middle of my 5 drains. Felt a little weird, but no pain associated with the removal. The last two on my hips will come out Monday, before I fly home. Said not to worry about my breasts, just be patient and not to wear a bra, to encourage them to drop. And I do not have to do the injectable blood thinner after all. Huge relief, I was not looking forward to that!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. Yesterday I woke up feeling really exhausted and weak, so I ended up sleeping for a lot of the days. By the time I woke up in the early evening I felt 100% better. I got another good nights sleep and had my first full day I've felt really well. Now that it has been mentioned, I think the lack of natural light is a factor in my blahs. The weather is not at all conducive any outdoor time (freezing rain and snow), and the small hotel room window doesn't help. @2Bsmaller18 I'm not sure how common blood thinners are post ps. It's definitely not universal, as one of my good friends had several procedures and never had any. Tomorrow is my first day back seeing my surgeon. I should get 3 of my 5 drains removed. I'm barely swollen at all. I think the plethora of drains are to thanks for that. So as annoying as they are, I am grateful for them. I hope I don't swell after their removal. My surgeon is unique in that he doesn't require, or necessarily even encourage compression garments. He feels they restrict blood flow and slow down healing. My breasts are still high and weird shaped ... ugh!
  4. Glad to hear you are doing well @rs! Good luck tomorrow @ms.sss!

No, have been off of them for 3 days now. I’m thinking of taking a Percoset this afternoon so I can take a really good nap and escape the aches for a little bit

Tomorrow i will be one week post op Physically this has been much easier than I expected. Practically no pain from my breast augmentation. The sharp LBL pain passed in a few days. But in someways it has been much harder than expected. I ache and I am sore. My tailbone aches from sitting. My lower back aches no matter if I sit, lay down, stand or walk. I have a near constant headache. I’m not sleeping well because I can’t get comfortable. Tylenol does nothing for me. Mentally it’s hard to concentrate. Everything is mildly irritating. In everyday life I would have no problem surfing the internet all day or bingeing Netflix. But now it’s all just uninteresting. I had planned to get really caught up on work stuff with all this down time, but I’m just not mentally there. The way I feel is surprising to me. I’m not very susceptible to dark moods. I’m generally very even keeled emotionally. But I just feel very blah 😕

    The Maintenance Thread

Playing devil's advocate here. You are under goal weight and according to your nut, have lost 100% of your excess weight. Why are you depriving yourself of celebrating the holidays with friends? Isn't the goal of WLS is to be able to fully enjoy our lives? You have already established that you can go off plan, have some small gain, and then come back, knuckle down and lose again. For me, this is exactly where I wanted to be in life. To just live and eat like a normal weight person. I just put guardrails up on a high weight and with logging. But otherwise I just want to enjoy my life, including dinner and drinks during the holidays with friends. I think it's easy to get hyperfocused on losing weight, and we can lose sight of what the end game is, to be happy, healthy and relaxed in our own skin.

So much to catch up on! Welcome @Dtrain84! Looking sharp! Wait, whaaa?? Why did you have to work up the nerve @Deedee12? You look fantastic! @AngieBear that professional look really suits you! @KaysMommy you rocked that lace holiday party dress! Love the festive one, but you could probably go a size smaller @Sophie7713 The three of you look so festive and adorable! @Sheribear68 what great vacay pics. Isn't it great to have pics of yourself you're proud to show people!?! @ms.sss How do you make 5' look so tall? Some secret you and @GreenTealael are keeping from the rest of us 🤨 @FluffyChix You think a size 14 is only two sizes too big? You realistically wear a 2-4 in Anne Klein .... I'm sure there are tons I've missed, everyone is looking fantastic. I'm a little down today. I'm stuck in a hotel room in sweat pants while my bf is going to do some Xmas party hopping on the other side of the country.

Pretty much ...only the pasta with creamy sauce and the fried chicken were edible. Even the desserts were bad?? I did learn that I only like beets cold .... hot beets, not so much 😂

Yes, it was some egg bake thing 🤣 I am almost sad to not have those meals now. It was like a fascinating train wreck. Everytime I was excited to uncover the dome and see how bad it could possibly be. One of the benefits of not having an appetite I guess!

If this level of numbness persists, that will be very strange! I have 5 drains. I am supposed to get 3 out after a week, and the last 2 out after 2 weeks. But with surgery schedule I will have to go 1.5 weeks to get my first set out. They are annoying, but still collecting a lot of fluid. So I'm glad to have them in and do their job, so I'm less swollen and avoid seromas. They look pretty gross, but they are easy to clean honestly.

IMO, dealing with real life eating is a good skill to have. You won't always be able to only eat food you cook yourself. Additionally, succeeding after WLS does not require perfection. Plenty of us have had great success, and have eaten non ideal foods And about stomach stretching....

    My Plastic Surgery Thread

Checking in. Today is 5 days post op. Just spent my second night in the hotel after three nights in the care center. As @catwoman7 wrote that time in the care center was invaluable. I needed a minimum of two night there, and the third was just a precaution. I would not have been ready to move to a hotel or home straight after surgery. Yesterday was a breakthrough day as far as pain goes. I have been off any pain meds for over 24 hrs. The pain is very mild, unless I move sharply or sneeze, cough, etc. I am also getting around much easier and significantly less hunched over. My boobs even look slightly less square and weird today. I slept in a regular bed last night, with just a pillow under my knees to prop me up. Best sleep I have gotten. I did take an Ambien, as opposed to my pain meds to sleep. In other breakthroughs, with the help of MOM, I had my first BM. I was nervous about that, as I had a traumatizing first BM after my VSG My surgeon hasn't started me on the inject able blood thinners yet. My drains are a still too bloody. I'm not sad about that really, as I don't know if I can inject myself. (My mom definitely is not capable) Randomeness, my LBL incision is very numb about 4-5 inches above and below it. My surgeon used Experal for numbing, but that should have worn off by now. I'm not sure if that is just an effect from surgery? It feel similar to being numbed from dental work. In good news, I still have nipple sensation! 😀(Peri aerola incision) I'm not going to be posting many pics here, with this being a public forum. But if anyone want to see some, you can PM me Thanks again for everyone's well wishes and support.

Last day of hospital food. (It's actually more of a nursing home)

    Hospital bill prepaid?

I had to prepay to get to my max out of pocket the morning of my surgery. I think that is the norm. Your out of pocket max is in a calendar year. So if you have a payment plan, I can imagine you’d not be out of your max by the end of the year

    My Plastic Surgery Thread

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! My LBL pain is lessening each day. But I’m still walking extremely hunched over. My breast pain is nearly nonexistent unless I’m putting all my weight on my arms trying to get in and out of bed etc. I know many people who have had BA’s and have more pain than I have. So I’m grateful for that I took a shower today w the help of a nurse. It felt really nice to get clean, but was exhausting. My mom got a good look at my naked body. She says it looks great. All smooth and taunt, even my inner thighs! 😃. My boobs do look really weird, as they are sitting high. I know about the drop and fluff process, but they still scare me a little 😟 I’m leaving the Care Center tomorrow. I stayed 2 extra night (1 is mandatory, I am staying 3). I’m glad I did, because I’m much more confident about getting around on my own this way. But I don’t go home until the 23rd (2 weeks post op). Even then I will stay w my mom through Xmas.

    My Plastic Surgery Thread

As far as the girls, I decided to go implants only, to save the pain and scars of a lift. My surgeon says I would have a good outcome as long as I was comfortable having more mature, teardrop shaped breasts. I am technically in need of a lift as define by distance between the middle of your collarbone to your nipples. But since my nips point outward instead f down, a lift wasn’t a requirement No lipo anywhere. He said I was too lean for it. The only place he could get fat out was my thighs. But if he did so that would exacerbate the sagging. I don’t necessarily want my thighs to be thinner, I just hate the draping on them He didn’t specifically say how little fat I had but he keeps saying my weight is great. A total of 4.5 lbs is what he removed. I’m super anxious to see what it all looks like. But there isn’t a mirror in my care center room plus, I can’t stand up straight enough to get a good look anyhow 😖

I had a lower body lift (sometimes called 360 body lift) and breast augmentation (silicon, under the muscle, no lift

You know how I said the pain was mild? I take that all back. I just got out of bed for the first time and walked about 10 steps. Holy F*ck that was awful!! As far as the procedure being fast, I agree. He has an extremely muscular PA that IMO gets the operation done quickly, and gives taunt results My other consults were for 8 hour surgeries. They’d only do my lower half, LBL, crescent thigh lift, lipo & BBL It’s also reassuring that several of the nurses and techs at the Care Center have had their relatives go to my surgeon. And others said they are saving up for surgery w my surgeon themselves
