    My Plastic Surgery Thread

Eight weeks post op, checking in! First off, I am feeling really really good, like almost normal. A lot of the time I could even forget I had ps. Last week was my first not work from home week. It was a long week where I was "on" from breakfast to closing down the bar. I was concerned about my stamina. But I was 100% fine. My swelling seems to be decreasing. I wore compression gear for work last week, and it seems they keep the swelling down even after I take them off. I have been experimenting this week with wearing them. Since I'm less swollen, either the compression gear is helping, or I'm at the place in my recovery that there is less swelling. My breast aug is coming along nicely! My left breast is like 80-90% there. It is looking nearly normal and natural. My right is coming along more slowly, but making progress, coming down little by little. In not so positive news ... the healing issue w my crack continues. I've had some conversatios w my surgeon about it, plus a lot of Googling. The issue is a healing tissue called slough has covered part of the wound, and it now impeding it from closing. The tissue needs to be debrided, but it's just an issue of how. My surgeon has directed me to soak in a bathtub/hot tub and use open weave gauze, to soften the slough and then pull it off when it sticks to the gauze. That's a pretty conservative approach, plus there is also the issue of getting the gauze in a tight area in order to stay and stick. I'm really interested in a more aggressive approach. I want to talk to my surgeon about coming in to see him, and if he will do some form of debridement in his office. There is the issue of if he will agree to, and finding the time to get there. The other option is going to wound management locally. But there don't appear to be any wound care centers "in network" close by. I'm also afraid of playing insurance roulette in case it's not covered because it stems from cosmetic surgery. To be continued ... Positive side benefit of my prescribed hydro therapy, I'm using the time in the hot tub to massage my scar tissue and my non compliant right breast when the tissues are warm and soft. Because of getting in the hot tub regularly I'm not using scar tape yet. Still using Bio Oil, if nothing else it's soothing when my skin gets itchy. In other vanity news ... Eyelash Extensions - Have a love/hate with these. I LOVE the way they look. Like 😍😍😍! But they are already coming out, especially on one eye. I'm not sure if I'm too rough on them, or they weren't applied correctly, or if this is normal. I also have naturally really oily eyelids (weird, huh?), so maybe that plays a part. So if I want to keep them up keep is going to be a b*tch. I already get my nails one every two weeks. Do I want to add the time and expense of eyelashes too? Filler - OMG, this has been a huge success. Results are drastic but subtle at the same time. I just look a little younger, but not "done". It was a bit of a roller coaster, first I was swollen and really bruised, then just swollen so I looked unnatural, then everything settled down and it looks perfect. I'll have to see how long it lasts. I got Radiesse, that is supposed to be the longest lasting. Botox - I like it, but isn't a huge difference. I went a little light with 20 units. Next time I'll go with 40 and do my 11's as well. It is cheap enough I'll experiment a little. PCA Chemical Peel - This was the biggest surprise for me. I didn't think much of it becuse it was a really cheap Groupon. I mean what can $37 get me? Well it really worked! I burned going on, and then I started o peel, I peeled for days! But at the end my skin is brighter and looks refreshed. Again, subtle, but positive. With all of the above it makes me feel a lot more confident to go about my day, anything but work, wearing little to no make up. Couple of pics ... First my tummy, I am soo happy! And then this is the filler, before and after

This is me as well. There is a reason I don't post everyday. Cause most days, like today, I'm wearing some variation of sweats/leggings, t shirt & fuzzy socks. Today I went the extra mile and covered it all up w a fuzzy robe!

  8. Catching up @Sophie7713! I'm glad you're doing so well! You look amazing. Thank you for posting up the pics. I'm sure many people who are considering plastics will appreciate your openness! You did have muscle tightening, so that explains the sharp pain getting in and out of bed. I had the same, and even at 8 weeks I can still feel soreness from that more than anywhere else. But a tight flat tummy and defined waist is the benefit, so worth it IMO.
  9. Taken me so long to respond, sorry! Yes, I'm feeling really good. There are some residual issues, but they for the most part don't affect me too much. I also had 4.5 lbs taken off. Amazing, isn't it? I like the fact my surgeon had a lot of drains and some stayed a full two weeks. They kept the swelling away while they were in. I'm glad because I got to see I really do have a flat tummy now, and it's swelling that is making it poochy, not excess tissue. It's the fact you didn't have the muscle tightening is what is allowing you to stand up straight. It's nice that you avoided that. My stomach muscles are still off and on painful now nearly 8 weeks out.

I am terribly hair unadventurous (we can't all be @AngieBear 😂), same cut, just varying lengths, but always below my shoulders. Well my hairdresser went rogue the week before last, and my hair is drastically shorter than it ever has been. You know what, I like it, I like it a lot. And even equally hair unadventurous people in my life, my bf, who loves my hair long, and my mom, who I inherited the unadventurous trait from really, sincerely like it as well. So this could be an opportunity to find you like your hair shorter or in a different style.

Super duper big important meeting week is over. These were my two final outfits of the week. The meeting activities necessitated pants and practical shoes It was a REALLY interesting week. It was the first time anyone work related has seen me post plastics. And additionally there were people attending that hadn't seen me post WLS either. On top of all that, I had a new haircut (my hairdresser took liberties 😖) and some facial tweaking (eyelashes, filler, botox). So as you can imagine there were many different reactions. All the way from no reaction to OMG reactions. But overall I felt confident and pretty fantastic. Of course closing a really successful year at work may have had something to do with it as well 😂

So much to catch up on @Snapcase- You look fantastic and are an amazing photographer, and you put booties on Fiona 🤣 @Sophie7713 Those flats remind me of Dorothy 😍 My hair color is a dark ash blonde. I very very lightly fake tanned my legs, so they weren't quite as ghostly white 👻 (and I am officially in love 😍 w Bobby!) @FluffyChix you asked "Which one do you feel most confident in/like the best?" on the 3 outfit day I posted. You know, I love all of them. The casual errands is me most of the time. The jeans, sneakers and sweater, I felt really casual/cute. Then the snake print palazzo pants I felt very put together and fashion forward. @Winchell I agree, I love the baby blue sweater, but i a small size it would show off all your hard work @BayougirlMrsS The grey and black keyhole top dress is here https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K845TFL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also have the short sleeve black w tropical flower top dress, and I love it as well. As an aside, I love that I can wear and feel confident in inexpensive clothes. I used to buy nearly every work outfit from Nordstroms and pay 4x-5x's the price @ms.sss Glad you had better luck w your Shein purchases then I did! @Deedee12 Singapore??? #vacationenvy! We need vacay pics! @Goody222 Looking fab! Welcome! On the plantar fasciitis issue ... I wonder if being barefoot more often prevents it? I was just thinking that I am barefoot, or in flip flops, and similar zero support shoes nearly all the time. Definitely part of the local lifestyle, especially living at the beach. That made me think most of the population of the world doesn't wear or even have access to supportive shoes. Does plantar fasciitis not exist in those populations or is it just something that is lived with?

I got all dresses (except for the coat). Dresses that were all stretchy material were either fine or a touch big. Items that weren't stretchy were too small. Three dresses had supplice style tops, and two were way too large, and one was fine. So just all over the place!
