Combined Breast Uplift, side fat and arm lift?
sillykitty replied to MaameWata's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
There are very qualified surgeons in modern surgical facilities in Turkey. It is not at all accurate that there is necessarily a lower quality of care or lack of hygiene. Standards have changed quite dramatically in recent years. -

On the before pic, from the top, The one that's the very unattractive brown color is Carribbean Jerk, it's not that color IRL, and it's my fave. Below is is Sweet Lime Chili, seasonal and was gross, The white one is actually salt & vinegar dry rub. Bottom is Nashville Hot. Chipotle aoli with the onion rings and ranch with the carrots -

Not going to lie. . this scares me a bit
sillykitty replied to BabySpoons's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
We all know that our surgeries have the possibility of complications. But we also hopefully realized they are statistically small. As far as Lisa Marie, a lot of the news coming out shows the stigma of WLS. She also had opioids in her system (at therapeutic levels) . Anyone who’s taken them knows how they can cause incredibly bad constipation. There are studies that link opioid use the SBO. Additionally, reportedly she had suffered from extreme pain for days and didn’t seek medical treatment -

does kaiser pay for a tummy tuck?
sillykitty replied to carlacv's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Insurance will usually cover a panniculectomy, not a tummy tuck. But you'll have to have documented rashes/infections. There might also be a requirement that your pannus hangs down a certain amount -

I'll do 4 days with meat, especially a dry texture like pork. Seafood I'll have 2 days of leftover with. Anything soupy or saucey, I'll boil or cook on high heat after a couple of days. -

Debating between Tummy Tuck and panniculectomy
sillykitty replied to Candigrl1's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
A panni just removed the excess hanging skin. The purpose is medical and cosmetic outcome is not the purpose. Often the belly button will be removed entirely. With a tt a good cosmetic outcome is the goal. Muscle repair is included, The incision can be extended to prevent dog ears. The incision placement is low so it can be hidden. The belly button recreated. But make sure you like your surgeon's work. Often plastic surgeons who take insurance aren't always the ones with the most pleasing outcomes. (Different for @ms.sss n Canada, with socialized medicine) -

New obesity meds in progress
sillykitty replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's exactly the point. Most WLS patients will take supplements and/or meds for life, so why is this an argument against weight loss meds? I'm 100% a believer in realistic expectations. As I mentioned I've taken taken GLP meds, to control regain. But I disagree that everyone will necessarily have to be on GLP meds for life, you said "That much ... is known". Some people have a smaller amount of weight to lose and can manage maintenance once it is lost IME. -
New obesity meds in progress
sillykitty replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thankfully the 1980's was 40 years ago. There has been much progress since then. I think comparing these new GLP meds to the ones mentioned above is like comparing a Tesla to a Datsun. The arguments against these drugs sound similar to what most of us heard about WLS. That someone knew someone who had horrible complications. That our stomachs are altered forever. That we will have to take supplements or meds forever. That they didn't need WLS to lose weight, so you shouldn't either. I have personally taken a GLP med. And I have known a number others who have as well. This is an option for people who aren't WLS candidates, or may just not consider that an option for them. It's also far fewer hoops to jump through and is not as life altering as WLS. I have known several people who have maintained their loss for over 6 months while being off the med. All the fearmongering seems unnecessary and unfounded IMO. The more options and less stigmatization for medically assisted weight loss the better. -
Doctor Recs and Pricing in Los Angeles
sillykitty replied to maintenanceman's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I've had 2 sets of surgeries and have traveled for both of them, as have some of my friends. Never had issues with recoveries and pain was always manageable. I had friends/family stay with me, but no medical care was provided. More like make me a sandwhich type care I stayed two weeks each time, which was more time than I needed. I've also known people who were very happy with recovery home stays -

I think Dr Katzen in BH is the best for male tt's after massive WL is SoCal. It's been a few years since I've gotten his quote. I think for a lower body lift you'd be looking at $25K ish, just as a ballpark -
