Stall right out of the gate?
sillykitty replied to LosingIt_3800's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't assume your pace has slowed down. You're in a stall. It's normal and it will happen over and over again. I REALLY think looking at the big picture with WLS is important. Sure ... this is discouraging But does it really matter, compared this this? -

@BadWolf523 How far out are you? Is that ricotta bake? -
Stall right out of the gate?
sillykitty replied to LosingIt_3800's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So instead of looking at it as 0 lost in two weeks, how about looking at it as 13 lbs lost in 3 weeks? And I'm guessing if you had been able to find long term success with Weight Watchers, you probably wouldn't have needed WLS? Losing quickly is great, of course. But the most important feature of WLS, IMO, is that it will help us keep the weight off long term. -

Ceviche ... left overs! -
I would. Getting your protein in is far more important than worrying if it's a slider food, IMO.

Well they are ... but I don't think anyone drinks them because they taste great. I think for most people it's just a way to meet their protein goals. I'd have a problem if my program had an issue with protein drinks, as long as they were low cal, high protein options.
-
Six weeks is still early. I'd just be patient and see if it becomes easier to tolerate. Why does your program want you off shakes? I still rely on them at 6 months because I have a lot of restriction. My program has no issue with that.

Air Fryer - Yay or Nay?

Love mine ... no issues whatsoever. But I have an iron stomach, and nothing bothers it pretty much ever, so there's that. -
Surviving family gatherings and parties after WLS

Congrats! That's the exact coping skills we need, because food's not going to go away, we just need to be able to make good choices! -
I might lower my goal weight ... I have more than 25 lbs of fat I want to lose under those clothes!

I'm actually asking people to take pics of me, instead of running from the camera. My excuse is I need to update my dating profile pics. That's true, but I also like the validation that I look as good as I feel. (yes, I'm vain! )

Single mom hoping to be ready to mingle mom again one day!
sillykitty replied to Letsgetgoing2018's topic in The Gals' Room
I'm single, but not a mom. I've been dating for what feels like forever, lol. I'm excited to date at the weight I am now. I always projected confidence and never let on to my insecurities due to my weight. But now I actually feel confident, instead of just faking it! -
Thoughts on air fried sweet potatoes? Is this "healthy"?
sillykitty replied to Mhy12784's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
You're maintaining, it is natural and non processed, and you enjoy it. I don't see anything wrong with any of that! -

I know! That's why the "just push food around your plate, no one will notice" thing won't work for me! I'm not sure why my restriction is so great, but I am not complaining! -

Getting discouraged.....need some encouragement
sillykitty replied to Heather E's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You've lost 66 lbs since April, that is in no way slow. I'd suggest focusing on the positives, instead of some unrealistic expectation on how fast you would lose. When in your life have you been able to lose 66 lbs in 4 months? -
Thanks! It doesn't look bad .... just not good with change, especially unexpected change, lol! My hair grows super fast, so no stress about it, just some annoyance.

You didn't share what you are doing now, so it's hard to tell you to keep up what you're doing ...... -
I'm all for healthy skepticism, but there are 25, researchers named on this study.

Low fat salad dressing that tastes GOOD
sillykitty replied to AngelaM258's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
It's a dip, but I'm sure you could use it as a dressing too, Opadippity Chipotle Ranch. I am also obsessed with Ken's Steakhouse Light Caesar. I have found if I try to go too "light", like the Skinny Girl dressings or Walden Farms, the fake taste is such a turn off I end up not wanting to have it again, and end up throwing the bottle away. -
4 years post op and can’t lose a pound
sillykitty replied to BriWLS's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
While I don't think carbs are necessarily bad, what you're eating is not working for you. If you want to lose, you're going to need to make some changes. The most obvious thing to change is how many carbs you're eating. Everything you mentioned except tuna and eggs has a significant amount of carbs. I'd switch to focusing on protein first and non starchy veggies. See if that gets the scale moving. -
You can also usually find a treadmill or other exercise equipment on Craigslist of cheap, or even free if you'll pick it up.

Hair Loss with Sleeve Surgery
sillykitty replied to Rachel2018's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree with this. There are several of us who have done everything "right", protein, supplements, etc., and still experienced hair loss. I lost a significant amount of hair from 3-5 months approximately. Even though I estimate about 33%-50% volume loss (from pony tail diameter), it really isn't noticeable to anyone other than myself. I just have to be careful pulling my hair back, because the loss does show at my temples and hairline.
