Period during surgery, please help!
Lillymunster replied to greensleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had lung surgery a few years ago and had my period. I was worried about that. I told the nurse in preop and it was no big deal. They deal with it all the time. -

I'm going through Tampa General. I have to do 6 months of nutrition/supervised weight loss (I have 3 left) and then the appts with the nutritionist, psychologist, NP and exercise physiologist. -
Is anyone from FL and had their surgery at Tampa General? I'd like to hear about your experiences with them.

Smoking...struggling to quit for surgery
Lillymunster replied to vanelifejourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with you. I have to be nicotine free for 3 months for my surgeon to do the surgery. My ins also requires I quit. Right now I'm on day 10 and I want to scream. I'm also trying not to eat in place of smoking because I've already started the supervised weight loss. It just plain sucks. I've tried Wellbutrin, Chantix, patches, gum, etc. in the past. I'm going cold turkey this time. -

Surgeon didn't complete my Gastric Bypass surgery!
Lillymunster replied to numinousvessel's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
About 6 years ago a friend of mine had the open surgery in MA. He was in the hospital for 3 days and out of work for 3 weeks. He did have to sleep in a recliner for a week or so because going from laying down to getting up caused him a lot of pain along his incision. He didn't have any problems and did really well. He does have a crazy scar but he's ok with that. His surgeon recommended it, I never knew why. -
I’m sorry to hear out your BIL. Hope everyone is ok.

Need Advice on Pregnancy!
Lillymunster replied to Nessa36's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My program says 18-24 months. I'm actually freezing eggs before surgery just in case. -
I haven't had WLS yet but I know that if my iron is low I get dizzy and get weird palpitations. Def have your iron levels checked.

What supplement are you using? To do it properly you need to have a combination of BHB salts and MCT (medium-chain triglyceride). This is why a lot of people who are doing a ketogenci coffee drink bulletproof coffee. Look up Dominic D'Agostino, he is the ketosis guru and many of the supplements on the market are actually his.

That's amazing. I have type 2 (insulin dependent) and I figured over time I'd come off, no idea it happened that fast. Congratulations! -
Spring 2018 Sleevers??? Looking for support, surgery buddies, advice, etc.! Lol.
Lillymunster replied to WLS4ME33's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just starting. I have to do 6 months of diet class. I just had my 3rd class. I have my first appointment with the surgeon next Tuesday and he will decide which surgery. I want the sleeve but I think he is going to push for bypass. I'm working on quitting smoking now (he won't do the surgery if you smoke) and then I have to ditch the Diet Coke. I never realized how intense the process was or how much work you have to put into it. I'm really nervous about the pre-op diet and being able to function at work barely eating. Same with post-op. I'll only be able to take 2 weeks off and I hear some people are out for 6 weeks.
