  1. I do not write alot of posts, but i read alot. since my sleeve in january the most popular posts i read is about people thinking they lose too little weight over time. Ofcourse we will all lose weight at different rates, but there are alot of factors that goes within that. Starting weight, inntake, how your body is healing, protein intake all that. I took my surgery 1 week after a friend who was just 20 pounds smaller than me, ive lost over 2x what he has but he is doing fine. it discouraged him to see me lose so fast even tough we stayed on the exact same diet. The important thing is not to doubt the surgery, if you start doubting and losing morale it might affect your mindset more than you can think. ive seen people who started at 200 pounds complaining about losing "only" 30 pounds in the first 2 months. i mean thats over 10% of the body mass its not bad. my starting weight was at 370 pounds. i currently weigh 253.53 pounds. We all differ in personality and interests but we all have the same issues. But the most important thing is to stay positive and think about what you eat. I payed for my surgery from a private institusion(goodbye 15000 USD). I skipped the puree phase cause i couldnt find anything i could like. i only went on liquids and right to solids. i eat at this phase alot less than i should not on purpose but because i cannot handle anymore, tough today i ate a whole cup of instant noodles. i walk 5.59 miles daily with my dog, and i think positively. Ive been sick atleast once a month, sitting here right now with the flu. Alot of people who just started on this journey also are already stressing about the risk of rebound. Rebound does not happen by itself. Just focus, try to have atleast some activity daily and eat healthy. Alot of people on this forum has great recipes ive tried and alot of great tips. look to the people who has been sucesfull years after surgery and still are on the forums helping people. Get inspiration from them and listen to what they have to say. Excuse my English, i live all the way up North in Norway so i know spelling mistakes will be a common sight in this post.

    Sleep! Post-Op Day 2

i slept in a sitting position for the first 2 weeks. had insane pain if i laid down on my side or back. i hear alot of ppl do not have that and can sleep normally the first day. i just wrapped an extra blanket and 2 pillows behind me so i could sit in my bed. it took some time to fall asleep at first ( thank god for netflix). gl hope you have a smooth recovery!

Where does everyone live? (General area)

Greetings from all the way up north in Norway ( i feel like im abit out of place. found this site on google but it has been very helpfull )
  6. So today its been abit more than 5 weeks since i got my sleeve. i did not take my weight before the surgery itself, but i did check it 2 weeks before. at that time i was 168 kg / 370 lbs. the weight in my household has a max of 150kg / 330lbs. so whenever i used it in the last 2 years it just said "error" ( we used to laugh about that). i tried to use it last week and still got the "error" but it was fine. i didnt expect to fly down in weight. today i had this feeling, and decided to try it. it said 148 kg / 326lbs. at first i tought it was a mistake. so i tried again. then i went to my workplace ( hospital) and used their vastly more advanced one. still said 148. talked to my doctor. i had done everything right. so all in all great day. ive lost almost 20kg/44lbs in 6 weeks (counting from 2 weeks before surgery when i started 1k kcal a day). which is amazing! My family wants to celebrate so i think today, ill make my favorite purèe meal Tandoori chicken !
  7. Thank you! i had seen some people complaining about early weight loss and also speculated their starting weight( they did not mention it) so i made sure to open with my starting weight. also nice progress you have! hope in 2 years that im doing as well as you.
  8. Hi guys! first off let me say this website im so glad i found it. it has made my life with the surgery so much better so far! im soon 3 weeks post op. and ive started the Purèe phase. ive tried eating a coupple of different things like swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes with sauce, vegetables and lamb with sauce all mixed with a handblender. i was looking forward to getting rid of the "hungry" feeling i was feeling almost everyday in the last week of the liquid phase but... i dont feel any difference from when i was on liquid. today i ate a decent amount, cant remember the specific amount. but i did not feel full. rather it felt like i was just drinking. i tought maybe i blended it to well ( to the point where i was basicly drinking the food). but that does not make sense. when i stop "eating" its not because i feel full, rather that i start getting nauseated. on the bright side i can now drink alot and im meeting my recommended amount of liquid. do you guys/girls have any tips of delicious purèe foods? i like spicy things and was considering tandoori chicken. also did any of you have the same experience as me? Sorry for any spelling errors im Norwegian ^^

    Hunger pains

i had my surgery 5 days ago, to be honest there isn't a lot to do at that stage. i just woke up yesterday and started drinking and i did not feel anything of discomfort unless i drank to much at once. i really enjoyed Powerade for some reason. it was the first liquid i could finish a bottle in one day. i had the nasty feeling and hunger pains the first 4 days. i think you just need to rest up and one day you will wake up and the discomfort won't be as much. hang in there buddy!
  10. Hi! so i had my surgery 4 days ago, today is my first day where i do not need pain meds and i do not feel pain drinking. i have been awake for like... 6 hours and i've almost drunk a whole bottle of powerade (16 oz/500ml bottles). i live in North Norway so i got delicious tap water. but im abit pick sometimes, a family friend who took the surgery 5 years ago recommended powerade. I did not get a whole lot of info about what i cannot and what i can drink only that i need to stick to clear liquids( i have a suggestion list from the doctor but that's about it). i was considering buying peach ice tea. but honestly there is a bit of sugar and kcal in it. do you guys think it will be fine? also do you have any other suggestions for good drinks? anything helps! ^^
