30 lbs in 5 weeks!
-
Pre-op: 292 Today: 267 1/17/18 down 25 pounds and it’s not a month yet. So much happier than last week

I actually gained two pounds since Friday but it’s that time of the month so I’m trying to not to flip my s**t. I can hardly swallow food so I’m pretty still in full liquid mode. I see MD again on Monday.

I never had VSG but the reflux from my RNY is unbelievably terrible. My doctor won’t let me take PPI’s but it’s worse now post surgery than before. Ask your doc if you can take PPI’s and if you can use them liberally. I’m told it will get better with time but I’m nearly 3 weeks and not better.

I have severe asthma and that is one of the reasons I did this. I am petrified of being put on any/more steroids for the reasons you touched on. While there is no doubt I made terrible food choices there is no doubt that long courses of steroids did little to benefit my weight.

I don’t have an ulcer but I understand your frustration as I have been sick (shortness of breath) since surgery and all I want is to feel better. If I go back to the doctor they will give me steroids which may or may not help but I’m afraid I’ll stop losing weight if I take the steroids. It sucks. Also if it makes you feel at all better I got the OK to have soft foods so I had tuna today for dinner and thought I might die in the process. I swear it got stuck in my throat and you know no mixing water at the same time so I suffered while my tuna digested in my throat. I’m only two weeks out today but this is not what I anticipated to say the least.

Hi Ruth, I’m only a few days out but I might have had my first dumping syndrome from water today so it for sure seems possible. Can you adjust the way you consume the calories to higher before exercise and then less after, hopefully still leaving you full. Good luck and congrats on being a year out.

My surgery rny was the 17th and I’m coming along. Everyday is different but it’s been mostly good. Glad to have so many buddies.

Hi All, I’m new to the forum and new to the lifestyle. I had surgery 5 days ago (1/17/18). Everything seems like it’s going according to plan/expectations but I find myself quite dizzy and haven’t taken any pain relievers today to see if maybe that was the culprit. Now I’m uncomfortable and dizzy. I got my fluids in today so I don’t think I’m dehydrated. Any one else have this/suggestions for a cure? Thanks!

Glad you did well

Hi Cindy, Leafy greens will do that to you regardless of if you’ve had WLS (I’m 5 days post op myself). If this is abnormal for you and you still have a gallbladder that could be part of the trouble. Otherwise, there seems to be a near constant recall on leafy greens so maybe you just got a bad batch. Good luck!
