  1. I'm surprised that I am cold a lot now too. I knew that was coming with weight loss but I was expecting it after I had lost 50+ pounds, not right after surgery.
  2. I'm exactly a week post-op (DS) and it seems to vary from day to day, even hour to hour, how much restriction I feel. Sometimes it's pretty dang easy to get fluids down, other times it's a slow struggle. I have felt a few times like I didn't have much restriction even though I know perfectly well I did get a sleeve and all the rest (I watched the screen while I did my barium swallow).
  3. I had a DS last week with Dr Wilhelmy as well. So far, so good. It's a real hospital, but it is not a U.S. Hospital. Dr Wilhelmy doesn't have a bad accent, but I think he may have a limited vocabulary in English (Dr. Campos acted as a translator during the pre-Surgery consult, though Dr Wilhelmy came by himself for the daily checkups post-op). No serious complications so far.
  4. My wife doesn't like skinny guys. My goal weight is about 40 pounds less than her goal for me. She's assured me that she'll be okay with wherever I land, but still her idea of hot me is about 240 lbs. Only one kid has expressed an opinion, she's never known me as anything but morbidly obese so "normal" to her would probably be 270 or so. I'm mainly interested in feeling better and being healthy.

    CPAP Nightmare?!?!

Personally I had to turn off the ramp or else I felt like I was suffocating when I hooked up at night. I also made a ritual out of putting my hand on the vent holes after I started the machine to reassure myself that I was getting air. I've heard of folks using the machine while they're watching TV to get used to it. I didn't need that but I can see how it could work. Everybody is different, part of adapting to the CPAP is finding what your particular triggers are and dealing with them. I've been on it for 3 years and I can't sleep without it now (one of my worries is weaning myself off of the psychological dependence when the physical need is gone after WLS).
