  1. I know you are early on but when using mayo, my nutritionist recommends mixing it with Greek yogurt. 1 part mayo to 3 parts yogurt. less fat and calories and the mayo gives its flavor to the mayo. perfect in egg salad, tuna salad , chicken salad etc later on.

    Built Bars

They are great, the mint and orange are my favorites. Even the flavors I'm not a fan of like the salted caramel are still good. Plus they are soft compared to most bars.
  3. Thanks. If you stick stick to the plan your team has and make sure to stick to it and exercise (if you can) the results will happen.
  4. Yes. Wooden church pews now do a number on my butt.

    My 3rd day post op

You'll either burp or fart it out, walking helps.
  7. I do see it, but again we see ourselves daily so we don't see it as others who do not see us as often. What I did was take pictures, I've done this on every weight loss attempt, but I did start taking pictures every Thursday since my surgery date. When i look back I do see all the work I have put in.

    Sleevers who Juice?

Careful on juicing, especially if using fruits as you can start exceeding calories. My Nut recommends smoothies over juices since the fiber is what makes you full and is beneficial. She also says to keep fruit to a minimum and use veggies more for bariatric patients. This is here Instagram https://www.instagram.com/nutritune/ , she also shows us how to adapt some of recipes she has and make them bariatric friendly

    TERRIFIED of gaining weight

I feel you. I watch youtube and TLC and watch people where they are now. I had surgery around the same time as you, it's that one year since surgery that is making you think about it, at least it is for me. Looking back at this past year I know the surgery was a big help/tool that lowered the amount of food I can take in, but the changes I have made in food choices and personal fitness are going to be for life and that was all me, not the surgery. Remember that the surgery was a help, but YOU are the change in your life. After the honeymoon phase its all on us. 👍

  12. In my support group we have a few members with both sleeve and bypass that are 5 years out plus. A particular member with a sleeve is 8 years out and has had no revision. He says he lost almost 150 pounds with the sleeve. and regained 30 pounds at one point but currently maintains at 15 from his lowest loss. He is an older gentleman and does say that age plays a factor as well as he noticed its tougher to loose weight now than a few years back. He also let us know when the weight puts back on is when he does not track his intake. When a newbie to the group asks if they will ever eat normal again he always tells them " Whats normal? Before surgery I would order a large pizza and eat it all in a sitting. Now I order a medium pizza, have a slice maybe two and save the rest for another meal. The before is not normal, the way I eat a slice now is."

    How much to eat

As a tip I would like to pass this on, I was told by my team to try new things individually early on. That way if it bothers you it'll be easier to identify. Hang in there, it will get better 👍

    Diabetic Results

I was on 2 meds prior to surgery. After surgery the one was stopped and the other cut in half, and then stopped all together one month after surgery. Good luck 👍
  15. @VIKING 0424 is right. Stick to the plan and you will continue loosing. 22 pounds in 6 weeks is great. keep at it 👍

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Glad to hear everyone is good since my last post. March 7th is my sleeve-iversary. I had no goal from my team so I set my own. Just had my labs done last week for the upcoming one year appointment, all looks good so far. Close to hitting my goal but may continue a bit past. i'll see where my body decides to go. Just happy that I've come this far and looking forward to the rest of the year.
  17. When I said the science behind, I meant what is hypothesized of what is happening. I should have been a bit clearer on that. thank you for pointing it out
  18. yes. Below is a basic breakdown of what happens, I'll attach a link below if you want the science behind it. You see the body is a very ideal system and does not want to waste. Besides water needed for glycogen, it also does not want to waste fat cells. When you have used fat stores in the cells it thinks 'I will refill the cells again with fat once i have more, since i don't have fat now i will hold them with water' after a few weeks of more fat loss the body will be' well looks like we keep loosing fat so i should let the fat cells go' and this is when you literally loose pounds overnight. It is called the whoosh effect and happens as weight loss happens. Here is the link https://ketogenic.com/the-whoosh-effect-myth-or-reality/
  19. If you added more workouts to your routine you need to account for glycogen stores. For every part glycogen you store the body needs 3-4 parts water for it. It'll take a bit but your body will adapt.

    Sex performance

I felt the same way prior to surgery.

    Yogurt

Try Kefir, my nutritionist swears by it, it's like yogurt. http://lifewaykefir.com/
  22. Most vegetables. As a kid I was force fed and was disgusted by them. I started eating your basic veggies during Pre-Surgery classes. After surgery I am willing to try any and all of them and quite enjoy them.
