Feeling Full/Receiving Full Cues in the Morning
nenes78 replied to KT1981's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
my getting full cue is a runny nose. I start with a few sniffles, that is the sign I'm getting close to full and stop. After the sniffles its hiccups. If I get those I need to STOP immediately or else. -
It's a great feeling. You look awesome!

In 2 days it’ll be one year since my sleeve. This morning I was a few ounces below 200. It was a great feeling, I have not weighed that since I was 18. This past year was full of changes and looking back I just wanted to say thank you to all of you on here who post and/or reply. This site has been a great tool full of information as well as a place where people relate to what I am going through and I them. I’ve read some inspirational posts as well as those of heartache and funny ones as well. I will continue my journey, taking what I have learned from here and keep moving forward. A big thank you again to the BariatricPal family, you all rock.

Calling to Post-Ops;Any Tips to being successful post-op(first weeks, months, year)
nenes78 replied to Elizabeth94's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My tip is if your bariatric team offers any sort of support group, check it out. Besides that, stick to your eating plan and exercise/move daily. -
It’s been over 20 years since I had owned a skateboard. Went out yesterday and bought a board and some gear to get back into it.

@FancyChristine15 is right about air. After surgery I would sip the water, exhale, and then swallow the water did that for the first 2 weeks until it became easier drinking water again. I actually still do that after a workout or activity when I am breathing hard so I don't suck in air which is still uncomfortable after 1 year.

Went to the boardwalk today and took a picture with my son were we always do. Here I am almost 2 years ago near my heaviest weight and today 1 year and 3 weeks after sleeve surgery. It’s crazy to me to see the pictures side by side.

HELP: Gaining Weight After Only 6 months from MGB
nenes78 replied to MGBinIsrael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would recommend weighing and logging your food. I did a quick count based on average serving size and what was posted. I calculated about 1600 calories a day. If this what you eat daily and you're working out the same , your body has reached a balance, hence a plateau. You need to either reduce calories or up your exercise. That should throw the body out of its routine and get you going again. Not sure what your exercise routine is the 3 days but maybe include 40-50 minute walk daily, if time is constraint have like 4-5 10 minute walks throughout the day. Good luck. -
These bars taste great. Even the ones I don't prefer still taste good. https://builtbar.com/ As for the 1 cup, that is a recommendation for serving size. If you can't finish it leave it. Take cues from your body when full, I know i'm reaching fullness when I get a sniffle in my nose, strangest thing but it works for me. 👍

Today was my farewell to food! Surgery date set.
nenes78 replied to killerqueen86's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats on the surgery. As @FancyChristine15 said above, we shouldn't make it an all or nothing type thing or we will eventually break. For me it's not a "I can't have this" but more of a "Should I have this". I'm a little over a year out and I food log and calorie count my intake. For example at birthdays I decline cake but sometimes will have a bite from my wife's if I want to try it, and I log that as well. For my birthday this year my wife picked me up a cupcake of carrot cake (its my favorite) I ate half and had the other half later that night. I still enjoyed my favorite cake but kept to a controllable portion and none left over to graze later. Good luck on your journey. -
Sleeves Any regrets????why and why not????
nenes78 replied to supergirl88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My only kind of regret (as corny as it sounds and has been said before on these forums), is not having had done this sooner. I looked at bariatric surgery 9 years ago and decided it was not for me at the time. I feel mentally at that time I was not were I am today and feel my maturity today is part of my success. -
Why No Drinking While Eating After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
nenes78 replied to CJinMichigan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This has been the hardest part for me in my first year. What helped me was a tip from my nutritionist . She said to ask for a cup of ice. That way if i really need it I can have ice and it satisfies me without all the volume. And no refills 😉 -
My skin is not as bad as I thought it would be and I feel that exercise and strength training has helped most of it. I expected worse based on my starting weight. I am almost 41.

Everyone is looking great! I’m a little over a year since surgery. Here is a shot from May 2017 and today.

My wife ordered these and they are amazing in flavor as well as low calorie and a great selection. Check out the stats, and remember that these have almost as much protein per serving with almost half the calories. 👍 https://builtbar.com

Eating for the first time did NOT go well!
nenes78 replied to Jezzabelle360's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Remember you don't need to finish all of it, that was the hardest part for me to learn. Also listen to your body, I have learned when approaching fullness my nose gets a sniffle and that's the sign for me to stop. 👍 -
