What’s a mini bypass?

People need to relax... it’s just an acronym, not a full-on name change. Geez!!! 🤦‍♀️

I’m curious... I’ve seen many posts of people going from sleeve to bypass. Can I ask why? The sleeve is so popular now that I’m quite surprised at the number of people who end up going to a bypass later on. I am not a candidate for sleeve due to GERD so bypass for me. But the sleeve was what I wanted.

I’m on 3 weeks liquid so today is day 3 for me. Getting easier. Just very boring! My doc allows us a few raw veggies for the crunch/chew factor! Carrots never tasted as good as they did today!

My surgery is April 9th!!! So excited! How r u doing on the liquid diet?

Got my insurance approval today! Submitted last Thursday and came back today! Surgery scheduled for April 2nd! Woohoo!!!

I am so happy to find this thread!! I will turn 54 four days before my surgery April 9th! I cannot wait! The skinny girl inside me is screaming to get out!

I’m supposed to begin my 2-week liquid diet on March 25th. Wondering if any of you have done liquid only for more than 2weeks?

My date got changed... since I’m having RNY doc wanted me to be first case of day so pushed back a week to April 9th. I’m ok with that! Nutrition class this week and physical testing? Not sure what that is about.

Where did u all purchase your 2-week pre-surgery liquid diet? What was the cost? Did u purchase thru your Bariatric Center or did u have option to purchase elsewhere. I’m required to buy thru my center and it’s $198!!!

Correct, name of show is Big Ward. Binge watched whole first season yesterday. Learned more about nutrition then I learned from the nutritionist at my surgeons office! Great show!!!

I’ve met with my surgeon last month as well as with his nutritionist in his office. Nutritionist gave me a piece of paper and said eat one thing out of each category (there are 3 categories) for every meal. I said ok. She then asked me what I think might be the hardest thing for me and I said sugar. I said that I love sweets and candy. She said “well just don’t buy it.” Ok... I guess if it was that simple I wouldn’t have even been talking with her!! Then she left the room. Grrrrrrr [emoji35]

Looks like my surgery will happen around mid-April and I’m supposed to ride (motorcycle) from Detroit to DC memorial weekend. Will 5-6 weeks be long enough healing time?

Me too!!! Last pre-op appt today and now it’s a waiting game from insurance. Surgeons office said it takes about two weeks to get approval from insurance. Then I have nutrition class and begin my two week liquid diet. Hoping for early April surgery date! [emoji1317]
