  1. Okay, I decided to eat one meal a day that is pureed instead of staying on liquids another week. Tonight's meal was blended brussel sprouts and chicken. It tasted amazing! I don't think I have ever eaten brussel sprouts before but they sounded so good when I was at the store. I am so glad I did. This seems like a lot of food. Three weeks ago I would have been like, this is a joke right? Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Three weeks and 20lbs down. I can start pureed food today. However, I would really like to see 25 - 30lbs come off in my first month. I might stay on liquids one more week. I have not exercised at all yet. Frankly, I have no energy because of the liquid diet. I am listening to my body and I figure week four will be when I can start my workout routine. I am seeing changes in my body and it is exciting. I started at 257lbs and I am now down to 237lbs. Overall, things have been great with no complications. No buyers remorse here. People say the first month is really hard but it hasn't been bad. Sure, day one looking at three weeks ahead of liquids seemed impossible. Yet, here I am adding a week. It takes a lot of self control and listening to your body. If you are hungry, it is probably time for a shake or some broth. At first the hunger hits and you think there is no way it will satisfy. Yet, you just keep doing it and soon your body and mind sink up and you realize, yes this does satisfy me and it is enough. I hope you are all doing well on your journey and that this helps in some way. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Three weeks postop update

I am so glad this helped. I read so many posts before surgery, trying to prepare. A lot of them scared me. I thought based on what I read, this would be so much harder. Thankfully it has gone great so far and I hope my story will bring comfort to those working on making a life changing decision. I thought of the health issues as well. I haven't talked with my team. I have been really good at taking my vitamins, protein, and drinking lots of water. I will probably add a few things throughout the week and contact my doctor if I have any issues. Time off work and telling co-workers?

My husband is the only one that knows. My friend had the surgery and told everyone. Now everyone is a critic and the things they say have had a negative impact on her journey. She is constantly defending her choice. I am telling no one and I will lie because it is none of their business how I lost the weight. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Eggdrop Soup, better than broth.

I just used Egg, chicken broth, and a little soy sauce. Not as thick but better than broth. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

Full liquid diet and pouch stretching

I am 17 days postop and still on liquids. I also feel like I can drink more than they said I would be able to. There have been times I wonder if they actually did the surgery. I imagine pureed and solid food will make a difference. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Insurances?

My friend did, we live in Idaho. She was only like 24 and had a BMI less than 40 but got diagnosed with sleep apnea. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. I read so many horror stories before surgery. So far, my story is a good one. I am completely pain free and I haven't had many problems. I have lost about 15lbs. I figure that is pretty good for not being active. I have been pretty tired and I have no energy. I am told this gets better after week three. For once in my life, I am not hungry all the time. I still get some cravings but I just practice stopping the thoughts and that helps. I am looking forward to eating soft foods next week. I am also looking forward to more weight loss and to start seeing my clothes get to big. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. I am almost pain free after surgery. I am hardly ever hungry. It is easy to follow my liquid diet although I am a bit board with it. I have lost about 13lbs. I don't have much energy, I sleep a lot. Constipation and bloating hit pretty bad around day 7. I fixed that with a variety of methods. Overall I am doing well. I decided it was a good time to finally get some much needed braces seeing as I will be on a liquid/soft food diet for some time. A lot of changes for me in a short time. I am excited for the future and focusing on that as I struggle with all of these changes in my life. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I woke up in a lot of pain. Now that they have it under control, I am feeling pretty good. Once they got me to my room, I walked several laps around the floor before getting into bed. I think most of my pain is just glass pain. I am so happy right now. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I have been thinking about you all night. It is possible you are not drinking enough fluids other than water. Split pea soup blended is awesome. Sugar free chocolate pudding is super helpful, limit one at most two a day. I hope that helps, good luck. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Four hours postop

We have a lot in common. I had back surgery in April 2017 and have had other surgeries. I think the patch helped a lot. So far I am down approximately 9lbs. Good luck with your surgery. It sounds like you are well prepared. That helps a lot. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. I am 5 days postop. Just keep reminding yourself that you are strong, this will make you stronger and it is only temporary. A year from now, probably a few months from now, you will be so happy and proud. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. I am doing pretty well. I still have gas pain and that is what bothers me the most. I haven't thrown up even once and I only had some mild nausea after surgery. I have done a good job of tracking liquids and following my diet. So far I have lost 9lbs. I am still taking it slow and listening to my body. Things feel different. I don't exactly ever feel hungry, I also don't seem to experience the traditional feeling of fullness. I never used to burp, ever. Now I keep having little burps every time I eat or drink. It's not to bad and I figure it will get a little better over time. Overall I am doing well and looking forward to my new life. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. I feel calm and ready, despite some nerves. I am ready for the postop pain and changes. I am just afraid of not making it through surgery or having a complication after. All of the normal stuff I guess. I am holding onto my "Why" like nothing else right now. I will never forget the first time I heard about this surgery, I was probably like 10. I was watching the story they did about Al Roker on NBC. I remember watching him as he lost weight and being so excited for him. I wish I hadn't gotten to this point but I am looking forward to getting my life back and being the person I always knew I could be. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. I am doing much better today. My pain is mostly from the gas. I have been able to keep all of my liquids down and have had very little nausea. I haven't felt hungry. When I started to get a little hunger pain I sipped broth or jello. Things seem good so far. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

  21. The long awaited day is finally here. So many thoughts running through my head. Thinking of a positive future where I am healthy and active. Also fearing that I will leave my 5 year old and 2 year old motherless. Aside from my husband and kids, I have told no one else about my surgery. Hopefully a year from today I will be posting about how successful the year was and how my life has changed for the better. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

  24. The pain right now is a ten and I am nauseated. They want me to start sipping and taking oral pain medication. I am so scared of vomiting right now. I am ready for this week to be over. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
