  1. Happy 56th Birthday Lakemom!

  2. Happy 55th Birthday Lakemom!

  3. Hi there! How are things with you? The family computer is in the shop so I havn't accessed my email in a week, hopefully get it home today. Let me know how you're doing!

  4. I totally agree with "plain" on every point. I was just banded in the middle of May (Dr. Kuri, TJ) and I am only really learning how not to drink with my meals, and for about an hour after. Its taken me awhile but I have the hang of it now. I was a self pay also, and my BMI was 37.2. I have dropped 22 lbs in the 3 weeks and would do this again in a minute. I have never been physically hungry. As 'plain' said the head hunger is what we have always tuned into in times when we need comfort, or love. I am just learning to love me again so the head hunger will become less and less. Lots to think about. I wish you luck on your decision.
  5. Congratulations! Please take it easy! When they tell you not to lift anything over 10 lbs for 4-6 weeks they mean it. My surgery went great, I was up and around that day but it finally caught up with me on day 3. I actually had an afternoon nap! Too much too soon isn't good. Remember, this is real surgery, with real incisions, real stitches and maybe some real bruising. You did this for you...love yourself just alittle while longer and pamper yourself! you earned it!

    Newbie from Saskatchewan

Hi, the fill nurse in Saskatoon is Michelle Wright.
  7. My name is Joel Sopp from Regina, SK. I am 6'3 and 437 lbs with a BMI of 54.6.

I am currently on the Board of Directors for the Saskatchewan Bariatric Surgery Support Group (www.sbssg.ca) and we are a Non-Profit WLS Support Group.

We have our Annual General Meeting coming up, which will take place at The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, 1800 Prince of Wales Drive in Regina, and we have a speaker coming out. Allison Kapp, the Nutritionist from the new Bariatric Clinic, will provide a presentation approximately 20 minutes in length followed by a 10?15 minute question and answer period for members of the SBSSG present at our Annual General Meeting. The presentation will begin at 2:40 pm.

Please go to the website and under AGM you can read a letter from the President of the SBSSG for prospective Board Members and/or Committee Chairs, An Information Kit for those interested in applying for a position on the board or a chair position, as well as a recruitment poster, nomination form, membership form and membership benefits.

It pays to be a paid member! cool2.gif

Feel free to e-mail hildahnke@sasktel.net (Current SBSSG President) or bkpromotions@sasktel.net (2007-2008 Communications Director) if you have questions about the SBSSG or the May 31st AGM. They will respond as soon as they can.

Take care and hope to see you at the AGM.

    Joel Sopp

  8. Contact me if you need the name of a fill nurse. I know one in Saskatoon who filled me last time and it was excellent!

    Scheduled for May? What Day?

I'm on May 13th, 2008 with Dr Kuri!
  10. I just wanted to introduce myself, I just read about us "lurkers" and thought what the hay... jump in. I live in Saskatchewan , Canada and yes we still have a bit of snow. I have just set my surgery date after considerable research. May 13th with Dr. Kuri. Thank goodness for wasabubblebutt's Mexican Doctor 101 "course". I used it as my outline and just ticked off the requirements as I spoke to people. I have picked up incredible information from this site, I thank everyone for their insight, inspiration and information. By the way what is "pbing"? Thankx
  11. Ok, Ok, I'm a lurker too. I finally feel confident enough to paticipate. I have also found a Doctor (Non-US or Canadian) and booked my surgery for May 13th. (self pay) I know it's the right thing to do for me and I thank everyone on this site for their insight, inspiration and information.
