All depends on how fast you recover and the amount of fortitude you have. I had surgery on Monday and I was mowing my lawn on the weekend. The physician and staff highly recommended to get up and moving although you will not have an ounce of willingness to so and from my experience, this was the best advice given because I did push through it and the more I moved around (Walking) each day became better. Additionally, my doctor wanted me to walk at least 45 mins a day prior to surgery to maximize my strength prior to surgery, and I was back to those walks a week later. Did your doctor give you similar advice prior to surgery?

I used ninja focus because regardless of the change you make, the actual issue is widespread, it just starts in our own cupboards. For example, when I was laid up recovering from surgery, one could imagine you will watch a little T.V. The food commercials are unbelievable to how many food ads run which honestly I never noticed and made me sick to my stomach.

6 weeks post surgery - Drinking
Sammy 10-30 replied to kgirlllllll07's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have not touched my favorite beverage (Beer Sam Adams) since Oct 15th because my taste buds do not desire the taste a beer anymore. However, I have never known a disciplined adult under the influence, LOL! -
Okay, I hope all is well

I relied heavily on the chewable nausea medication to consume food without up chucking it and slowed my pace of consumption down significantly to overcome this horrible feeling. I have the same advice others have given you, I highly recommend you consult with your physician sooner than later, especially if you can not hold any food or liquid down, so they can pinpoint the issue.

Did you receive any hernia repair by chance? This led to my decision to elect to eceive a gastric sleeve and my hernia repair were stitched vice using a mesh. So my discomfort was because of this and the gastric sleeve, I just couldn't tell which one it was other than it took some time to heal up. Definitely, consult with your physician (Nurses) before you approach your post-surgery appointment soon, as I am sure you already aware of. Hope our perceptions and experiences are helpful.

Thank you for posting your daily consumption, easier to identify differences. Have you considered removing some of those items and making a high protein shake to gain your daily recommended protein goal? The protein shake has helped so much for myself and it cuts my hunger down allot. It started for me just like you I began to workout again and it started with walking and now I lift weights regularly to regain my strength and do at least one 27 mile bike ride a week. So I tried something new and started counting how many calories I burned to how many I was intaking daily. Once I found a combination that works best and my calorie burn was well exceeding my intake, the pounds fell off. The stalls will happen do not get discouraged, depending on your choice of exercise. Everyone knows lifting weights builds muscle and it weighs more, my weight was jumping so much I stopped looking. Just last month I was 217 and 2 or 3 days later back down to 206 and changed nothing to my diet and today I am 196 so stick with it and look at the bigger picture it helps allot and realize it is not just about weight loss. Best of luck to you!!

Serious Overeating & Binging Problems Post Op

The misconceptions of seeing a therapist, first just because you see one you necessarily do not have a problem. The best way to break bad eating habits is to address those through your doctor, therapy, and a dietitian, the ball is in your court to cast your demons and it depends on you to make changes necessary to support your recent surgery. Best of luck to you!! -
This is the secret society we live in today. Without a doubt, I get more looks from women in the grocery store now, perhaps it is this tight shirt I wear and 32 jeans I wore in high school. On a serious note; I faced the same negativity and some pretty nasty comments supported by the rolling of their eyes. I find it is better to rise above their un-educated minds and take the high road, so they can hopefully change. If not, I will slowly disassociate from them and these people will be replaced and if they want to step in a ring I am happy to entertain that option as well.

Considering cancelling surgery
Sammy 10-30 replied to erika702's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the same thoughts until I realized that implications of the weight I gained and the next health disaster was more than likely heart failure. I have grandfather and father who both received bypass surgery due to heart complications, so at that moment the surgery was a no-brainer and the decision was not about me, even know it was. Hopefully, I can re-write our family history and break the curse. Besides, regardless of what we say, you must take the necessary steps to make the decision on your own, so you are able to move on to the next step. I strongly encourage professional guidance from an appropriate counselor to help you get over this challenge and I hope things will become a little clearer to you so you can make the appropriate adult decision. Best of luck to you!! -
Thank you for sharing your inspiring story Miss Tupaz. Truly Awesome!

Congrats DeDawn making it through your surgery. I believe you are on the right path by exercising and taking walks to regain your strength and improve your conditioning that will support your weight loss down the road. I believe exercise and increased activity maximize the results of this surgery and your surgeon will be most likely be pleased to hear that you are doing so. Good Luck to you and welcome to the forum.
