Youngstown area St Es and St Joes

I was banded in may 2008 by Dr. Woodruff. I believe it's the best decision that I have made and the office staff are extremely nice and helpful!
  4. I went back to work four weeks after having my surgery because I was sooooo bored. I also stand on my feet for up to 8 hours at a time and I didn't have a problem with going back to work. Actually...it was easier to stand so long because I had lost some weight. I think it just depends on you. You know your body and how much you can handle!!

    Girls Like Boys

I know what you mean with this one!! I was hooking up with one of my really good friends but I always felt like we never dated because he was a shallow jerk and I can't wait for his jaw to drop and I hope he realizes what a great time he lost out on!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE

    Question: Four days out

I am starting to feel better and better as the days progress. I have to say that one thing that has helped me is getting out of the house. I hate just sitting around because I get so bored. I think I have been at the mall everyday. I even drove 25 minutes to a new mall to have my makeup done. I think that making sure you do special things to make yourself feel good goes a long way when you can't sit around and eat!! How are you feeling? If you're still feeling down, may I suggest getting your makeup done? Alot of makeup counters will do your makeup for free just to show off their new products. MAC is my favorite and it made me feel good!

    hernia repair with lap band

I had a hernia repair too...and I also was never bothered by it. I guess they just figured to get everything fixed while they were in there! Good luck with everything :leaving:

    coughing post op

a little coughing post-op is good because it keeps you from getting a pneumonia. If it starts to hurt...hold a pillow over your incision. Good luck with everything!

    Question: Four days out

In all honesty...the pain wasn't that bad. The worst part was the gas pain in your shoulder from when they inflate your stomach. I also just found out that sneezing should be avoided at all costs...ouch! The only medication I'm taking for pain is tylenol if that is any indication of how minimal the pain is. Hope that helped!!

    Question: Four days out

I have a question....Did anyone feel depressed around 4 days after your surgery? I was feeling great yesterday and then when I woke up today, I just started feeling extremely sad. Any opinions or stories?

    One Week Away

Hello Everyone!! I'm 20 years old and I'm scheduled for my Lap Band surgery on May 13, 2008. It's under a week away and I'm finally starting to get nervous. I have been waiting for my surgery since June of last year and I think that it's been so far away for so long that I haven't really focused on it but as it comes closer....I'm freaking out!!! I'm really excited and reading everything people have been saying in their threads has helped me put some perspective on how awesome this decision is. Does anyone have any advice on life in your early 20's after the surgery? I'm scared that all those people offering support now will change their minds after the surgery. Also, any stories about dating? Thanks so much!! -Andrea
