  1. My doctor gave me his cell phone number so he could be called instead of an on call doctor with any problems or concerns

    Feeling deflated

I had my surgery 11/28/17 and lost 24 pounds the first month then stayed the same for 3 weeks. It did start moving again but only a pound every couple days. don't get discouraged. my doctor said once I can eat raw fruits and vegetables the weight will come off quicker. I was really discouraged because I held at 203 for 3 weeks and I was so looking forward to being under 200 pounds. I'm now at 198 and looking forward to losing much more. best of luck to you. it will start coming off again just be patient.
  3. I had one of the best teams there are. I saw my nutritionist every month until my surgery which was 6 months later. I saw the nurse and doctor every month also. I was given all the information I needed and then some. they were always available if I had any questions or concerns. my surgeon even gave me his personal cell phone number because he didn't want me to talk to someone on call if I had an complications or concerns. he wanted me to get ahold of him directly. I was on clear liquids the first day but on day 2 I was allowed to drink shakes. he tried it with his patients and found they did really well with the shakes. I wish everyone had the team I had. I cant say enough good things about them. my surgeon is even at every monthly support meeting. He is very caring and down to earth.
  4. I am 9 weeks post op. when I was on the liquids I was worried too cause I could drink 4 ounces and wait and drink 4 more ounces in an hour and i didnt feel full. but my doctor said not to worry and it will be different when you can eat more solid foods. He was right when I was allowed to eat scrambled eggs at 6 weeks I couldn't finish one egg. I would eat 1/2 of it and then eat the rest of it an hour or two later. now I can eat meat and veggies and its all I can do to get 4 ounces in. you will really see a difference when you start on solids. so much different than liquids. but I do agree that 20 ounces in 15 minutes is way too much. your doctor or nutritionist should have given you an outline of what and how much you should be drinking. good luck with your journey. I wish only the best for you.
