    Milk of Magnesia

Agreed. I had to take some this morning as I'm a bit behind in my movements and I'm at work with no problems. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I totally get this. I'm 6 months out and eating solids WAY better than the first 3 months, but I still tire of the same food quickly. I found for me it works better to grocery shop more often and only buy one of things to eat off of for a few days at a time. Find 3-4 things that you can rotate in a week to eat, but and cook one portion size at a time as that one portion can be eaten by us in 2-3 meals. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. My cousin who is 6 years out said that most vitamins would give me nausea, so to make sure that I eat something before taking it. I still have chewable Celebrate Bariatric vitamins, and I eat something before taking one, still my stomach does not feel great but it has helps a little. I can tell you from experience to not stop trying to find what works for you as far as vitamins. I went through a rough time with becoming dehydrated because I became super sensitive to tastes and smells. After a hospital visit and two nausea meds, I found that I NEEDED the multivitamin because though I was drinking water, my body was not absorbing electrolytes, mainly mag. Once I started working on taking the vitamins, the massive headache I had since week two post surgery, went away! And drinking water became somewhat easier.

    Excercise

I have and I am going to have to learn some new things. I used to do Les Mils group fitness classes 5, sometimes 6 days a week. I did not try to go back to my regular routine. I tried the strength training class, with no weights or very light weights...got my butt kicked in a way a workout class never had in the past. I think it might have to do with the drastic change in calorie intake I am at now and probably because I am still working on in taking enough water.

    Solid Meat Problems

Were you told to strain your soups? I was because they said it is basically drinking while eating. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Solid Meat Problems

Thanks everyone! Sounds like I might want to try ground meat, chicken or other wise. I was told not to try chicken breast as it is too dry. I have not even though about steak or any thing along those lines. Has anyone tried pork, I'm actually nervous it is too soon. I am about 7 wks out. 7. I wonder if anyone else has had trouble in the beginning of solid food stage with eating meats? If so, what did you eat instead for protein until your body did better with meat? Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Destined to be fat?

I agree with what the majority have stated on this post. You will have to train yourself to realize that just because you can only eat a small amount of food, it does not equal weight loss. I have heard of many people gaining their weight back because of poor food choices, even though they were eating them in small amounts. But eat enough of them everyday and you body starts storing the fat. I am finally back on solid foods and have found that my grocery shopping and cooking has been simplified in a good way. I buy only what I need to make it through the week or till my paycheck and then when I cook it is only meat and veggies. So if you are cooking spaghetti for the family, make some turkey or chicken meatballs to go with it that you can eat and add a multi veggie salad. That way the only thing you are "missing out" on is the pasta.

    Popcorn 🍿

I think I would be nervous like the rest of you to try actual popcorn for a long while. But I will say that before surgery I loved these snacks called Popcorners, here is a link to show you https://www.amazon.com/POPCORNERS-Carnival-Kettle-Popped-Non-GMO/dp/B004IS56Y0?th=1. I have always liked popcorn over chips before surgery, so when I found these about 3 years ago, I LOVED them. The Dollar Trees here in Texas carries them. A bag is 160 calories, but I am sure that none of could eat an entire bag in one sitting, so these might be a nice once in a while snack option for us who just want to try.

    Popcorn 🍿

I think it is one of those varying opinion foods. My stage 3 for life plan says popcorn is the better options if I snack.

    Any Sleevies/Gastries close by Waco?

I was 323 day of surgery. I have not been fluctuating as far as I know. The clinic has not really encouraged weighing myself very often, they are focused on us eating the way we are supposed to and of course WATER, WATER, WATER! Water ended up being the problem for me. I went through a couple of weeks where I could not keep anything down and at one point I could not drink water. I apparently am hypersensitive to tastes and smells now and they have me on two nausea meds to try and help me keep things down. It is working pretty well so far. I am able to drink water again and I am slowly eating solids.

    Any Sleevies/Gastries close by Waco?

I am in Waco. My surgery was 11/22/17. How has your post surgery life been? I have had a pretty big hiccup myself.

    anyone in Israel?

I am not in Isreal, but would think some of the requirements might be universal. Here in the states what is a big deciding factor for approval is your insurance. They will have a list of requirements to meet in order for the surgery to be approved. Also, I do not understand what you cholesterol levels would have to do with having the surgery or not. Most surgeons, insurance, etc go by the BMI chart on whether a person qualifies. If a person does not have high cholesterol or other obesity health issues, the general thought is praise God, let's get the surgery before you do start having health problems. I would find a surgeon and seek his advice about it. And I always say if a healthcare worker is not a good fit for you, do not be afraid to find a new one. You have to be able to trust the person and their medical advice, if not problems could arise.
