Yes, mine was light yellow for 4 weeks. It did change though. Seemed like it changed as I added new foods. Hope this helps.

Oh sh*t! I never mentioned the color of mine to my surgeon and mine was light yellow for about 4 weeks. The color has changed but reading this I wish I would have told her.

Sweets Cravings and Cheating/Depression
KatFight replied to Minnesota Redhead's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm sorry for your loss. Losing your father sounds like a significant factor in losing your energy. Certainly the resulting depression adds to the deep fatigue. About sweets: I had a massive sweet tooth. I had my surgery 12/28/17 so I'm still working at getting my protein and fluids in but In the back of my mind I am telling myself to beware as I get further along because I may be tempted. I'm not sure of how to detox from sugar but here's what helped me: 1. Stop bringing sweets into the house. 2. When sweets are available, pick up water or some tasty protein instead (if available) or simply walk away. 3. Drink lots of water. 4. Brush teeth after each meal. 5. Following brushing, fill up a tumbler with water and carry it around to drink 1/2-1 hour following eating. (The eating done before brushing.) 6. Focus on something else. I have been suggesting jigsaw puzzles a lot because I've found that they engage my mind and take my focus off of food, Whatever you choose to do, I wish you success. Staying away from sweets is tough but you can do it. -
*can fit (autocorrect! it's screwed up my wording in other posts too)

Hi. The 3rd week I was hit hard with exhaustion. There were two days that getting out of bed was nearly impossible. It's tougher when work is added too. I think it's our bodies healing and not having the amount of protein we need yet. I hope you cannot in some time to rest.

Sugar-free Popsicles and sugar-free jell-o are nice to have. They did taste really sweet when I tried them after surgery. My taste buds had changed. I like to give them 5-7 minutes to melt a little. It's kind of like eating an icee that way. Wishing you well on your surgery.

kakatlady612 I agree with FluffyChix. You're head has been in the game. I've seen some of your posts. There are times in this process when frustration builds to such a high level that it's unclear how to rid oneself of it. I felt it many times. All you can do is control what you do...how you behave, what you eat, getting to your appointments, calling daily if necessary to follow-up on what the he** is going on, etc. (but always your nice voice - lol). Your surgery will happen. Trust. Believe. -

I feel the same way as you do. My surgery was 12/28. I've lost 19 lbs. since surgery and I've followed all dietary protocol. I do walk around my block each week - some weeks more than others because of fibromyalgia and arthritis pain. I spoke to my doctor about this and she was understanding, encouraged me to rest in the worse days and do more in the better days. She also thought my weight loss was good. I had lost 18 lbs. during the first 4 weeks and lost 1 lb. in the last week. Like you, I have wondered why more hasn't come off because I'm not eating much and I see other people losing more weight. Since my consultation, I've lost 41 pounds. The dietician, therapist, and surgeon are pleased. I'm just hoping things don't keep going this slowly. While I feel this way, all of the posts make perfect sense and are very logical. And, I actually think your weight loss is very good. You're really doing great and need to keep doing what you're doing. -

Mine is has multiple meanings. Kat is my nickname and I also love cats. Fight is what I'm doing to lose weight and become healthier. KatFight stands for who I am and what I'm doing as opposed to cat fight that cats can get in and "cat fight," the common words used when women are fighting. We all know that cat fights can be pretty scary and intense (cats and women). I'm bringing that same intensity to my fight. My KatFight. Stripper name: Sassy Mimosa

You are so courageous to see life as you do following such a painful period in your life. My heart aches for what your husband dealt with and the effect it had on you.

How Come We Never Look Like We Think We Look (Especially in Photos)???
KatFight replied to FluffyChix's topic in The Lounge
So true. Same thing happens to me. I put make on and fixed my hair for a progress photo. Well, my hair looked flat and lifeless and it looked like I made myself up to look worse. I have some high quality cosmetics, recommended by my cosmetologist daughter. You would have no idea looking at those photos. lol -
Oh My Gosh!!! Hilarious! I'm glad you were ok. Yeah, it doesn't sound like it went the way he thought it would go. lol

I deal w hypothyroidism and depression too. That, along with "super obesity" (that's what I was medically diagnosed), really doesn't make sexual relations easy. If I added it up, I think I had more sex before my marriage! lol I was small then. My weight started creeping up about 3 years after my husband and I were married. And, there's more to the lack of physical intimacy than weight on many occasions. We've been in a good place for several years and the intimacy doesn't follow. I'd like to have some relations at some point since I have a partner and I'm only getting older. Guess I'll be talking to my therapist too. Thanks for reaching out and understanding. Love the other comments left here too - some funny ones.

lol Yes, I do know they lose weight differently. Lucky them. Love your outlook.

Welcome. Your husband has done great - those are impressive numbers for such a short period of time. You are on your way. So. I'm guessing your surgery will be late March or early April once approved? How are you feeling about it? It's great to have a supportive spouse. My husband has been with me 100%. It means a lot.

That's a tough place to be in, especially since you value her, because you'll need to fully engage in discussion and get your point across even if it's unpleasant for you, her, or both of you. What else can you do? This means a lot to you and you deserve to have an effective tool to battle obesity. I wish success. Don't lose hope.

I was doing well after surgery so when I saw my surgeon two weeks post-op, she told me that I could eat chicken, such as rotisserie. She said to eat very small bites and chew a lot first. If you can, may be worth switching to another dietician. The one you have is very confused.
-
I'm not sure if your on a self-destructive path. You've been successful and established positive eating behaviors. If you think you'll lose all of your positive habits by enjoying a few favorites before the pre-op diet starts, then it's not a good idea. You know yourself. If you know those positive behaviors are going to remain even with a few treats, then enjoy what you choose. I did have a few treats prior to my pre-op liquid diet. My family was supportive because they saw all of my hard work up until that point. The key is not overdoing it to the point of gaining weight at your pre-op visit.

"Water nausea" - yes, I have experienced it. I realized when I first got home that water alone wasn't going to work for now and drank cran-water instead. As my stomach settled following surgery,I added plain water back in. The nausea initially was very brief. Real nausea set in on week 3. I went back to cran-water for a week then back to water.
