I started to experience hair loss at 3 months and I’m now at 4 months Post op. My Nut said it could last 6-8 month but then it will stop falling out. When I brush my hair lost come out each time. It’s kind of nerve racking. In addition I wasn’t getting my 60grams of protein in. So now I’m making sure I’m getting it in and taking biotin. Hopefully it will help.

I had mine done at Westchester Medical Center Ny. -
Hum I wouldn’t say any of the cons would have stopped me from having surgery. I would do it all over again. Here are some cons I have experienced. I’m 17 days post op. 1- I hate eating. Takes forever to eat and if you don’t eat slow and chew good, it hurts going down. 2- getting all the water in is a challenge and stressful for me. 3-No foods appeal to me anymore ( I guess that could be a good thing). 4- I hate taking vitamins. I liked them before the surgery now I hate how they taste. Those are my cons so far but all of these complaints will get better with time. No regrets!

Time off work and telling co-workers?
colt45 replied to Livetothrive's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I took one week off and went back. I work in a small office so I had no problem telling my co workers and my boss all of whom have been very supportive. -
Hi all. 17 days post op here and I seem to have pain on the left side. Mostly when I’m laying down and try to roll over. I feel excruciating pain for about 10 long seconds. Anyone experience this? Does it go away?

I have no interest in food. Everything I eat I feel like it’s gross and never want it again. I feel like if I never eat again, I’ll be ok with that. Does this feeling go away? Im 2 weeks post op.

I’m 9 days post-op and I’ve already hit a stall. I’ve been the same weight for 3 days now. Is it normal to hit a stall only 9 days out? I’ve been walking for 20-30 min on a treadmill and that’s not helping.

Hi. I am 2 weeks post op and started on soft proteins I have 1 shake split up into 2 meals one for breakfast and one for lunch. Then tonight I had a 4oz piece of haddock and I was able to eat the entire 4oz. Shouldn’t I have gotten full before I finished all 4oz?

Thanks good to know. I was thinking my stomach wasn’t cut small enough. I stress over everything...

It should start to clear out. You’ll feel so much better in a few days.

It’s frustrating... I know it will pass but it’s a waste of time where I could be losing.

Mine is 2 weeks of liquids getting in 60grams of protein shakes per day, that 2 pre made premier protein and 64oz of water. Then at 2 weeks we can have soft proteins but supposed to have 2 shakes and one soft meal. I started soft protein on day 5 I couldn’t wait. I’ve been trying different things here and there with no problems so far.

2 week post op incision pain
colt45 replied to danybx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having a burning sensation on one of mine. I’m 1 week post op. I think it’s mostly due to it being stretched because when I stand my belly hangs. When I laying down it’s fine. It has gotten better the last day or so. -
Thanks everyone. I’m Going to try pamprin.

Hello, my dr told me I could only take Tylenol after having the sleeve done. Prior to surgery when I would get my period, I would take Motrin but I don’t think that’s allowed anymore. What do you all suggest that we can take to help With the cramping?
-
Same problem here. I’m 1 week post op and am only getting in 32 oz of water. I just can’t seem to get more in. If I try to take bigger sips it hurts going down. I’m hoping it will start to get better with each passing day.

Hi all. I know you’re not supposed to have any alcohol after surgery so I’m talking about a year or more down the line. What alcohol beverages are safe to consume if you were to have 1 drink socially?

Smoking...struggling to quit for surgery
colt45 replied to vanelifejourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can ask for Chantix. It helped me quit a few times. This last time I did it cold turkey and was able to do it because I knew I had to for the surgery and i wanted the surgery more than I wanted to smoke. I wouldn’t suggest smoking after the surgery is done either. Your wounds inside need to heal and smoking can increase the changes for infections, blood clots etc. so do yourself a favor and just quit and think about the positives of quitting. Saving lots of money, not smelling like an ashtray, having more energy, saving your life. The list goes on. Good luck!
