:thumbup:I was banded on 05/07/2008. It 's been a little over a year and I've lost 70 pounds. I wouldn't change a thing! I couldn't be happier. I did not have any complicaitons. The most common problem I have is constipation:blush: but take care of that with Benefil. I started off size 20/22 and I'm now wearing a size 14.:sneaky: I can't remember the last time I was a 14. I would still like to get about 20 more pounds off. I went from sitting on the couch every night to walking 3 to 4 miles everyday. I love it and would definately recommend this to everyone. I'm good with my diet. Chicken and fish with a little bit of veggies on the side. I don't stray from that too much. I don't eat any bread, rice,or pasta. I'm scared to even try it. -
I was banded on May7,2008. I have my first bladder infection and boy is it bad. I've got 101.9 fever and had a horrible night. I wasn't able to see my doctor that banded me and I question if it's ok to take alot of Advil. I got an antibiotic that is liquid but I'm taking Advill every 4 hours to help with the fever. Is this OK?

Hello everyone, Sorry it took so long to reply. San Benito is in South Texas and we got hit by the hurricane last week. We are all OK. We had some damage to our barn but we had insurance so we are good. I've lost 27 pounds as of today. I hit a plateu and was stuck at 25. I've been walking alot and added more Protein drinks. I can feel that I'm losing inches though so that's still good with me. I have a wedding in August to and I had hoped to lose more. Maybe it will kick in . How are you doing? -

I'm from South Texas (San Benito). Who did your surgery? I went to Dr. Patel in San Antonio but I do my fills in Corpus. He is great! I got my first fill a couple of weeks ago. At first he put too much and I couldn't swallow anything. He took a little out and it made all the difference in the world. I think I'm ready for another one though. I can eat alot. Not as much as I used to but practically a whole plate. I've lost 24 pounds now but wish it would go faster. I guess slow and steady is better than fast and then none at all. Nice chatting with you! -

27 is great! I'm now at 24. It seems slow but steady. I got my first fill a couple of weeks ago but I think I need to go again. I can still eat alot! Not as much as I used to but more than I think I should. Keep in touch - my twin! -

I'm reading this after your surgery dates. How are you doing? I was banded on May 7, 2008 and have lost 22 pounds. How were you able to lose steadily. Any words of wisdom. I have stuck strickly to the diet plan. I've only been eating real food for about 2 weeks. -

I got banded on May 7th. I'm feeling so much better. Every week is a new hurdle that I've jumped. I'm starting to eat scrambeld eggs, american cheese, string cheese, and Slim Fast. I had a can of tuna for the first time yesterday. It was so good. I'm still a little sore and I have to sleep on my back. Will I ever be able to sleep on my side again? -

See if you can have apple juice. I drank apple juice prior to surgery and it helped with my appetite and with my headaches. -

Going CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!
notsotinydancer replied to holly11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am on the liquid diet. I just recently added thicker liquids like Slim Fast and creamy soups. The soups made me nausiated so I backed off of them. I have sugar free jello and popsickles. To help my urges I suck on sugar free hard candies. They seem to help get me through the between meals urges. I was so sick of broth out of a can that I went to subway and ordered the chicken noodle soup and told them to give me only the broth. It tasted so much better and was satisfying. Try different soups but don't eat the noodles. Don't give up. This is the hardest part(from what I'm told). It does get better. -
Hi Ashly, I'm from the Valley in South TX but I'm getting banded in San Antonio with Dr. Patel. How are you doing? Any worries or knowledge you want to pass on to me?
