Interesting. The sleep lab that we’re the medical directors for and all of the others we use, use a benchmark of 10 to diagnose OSA. I’ve worked with sleep medicine for 20 years and it’s always been 10. (Pittsburgh, PA) Weird that it’s different where you are. -

I work for a doctor & he’s the medical director for a sleep lab. You have to have 10 apneas per hour to be officially diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I had 9, but my surgeon told me that if I don’t use the CPAP, then I’d have to sign a waiver absolving them from blame if I die of apnea during surgery. So, obviously, I’m going to try to use the machine. Hopefully, after I lose weight, I can send it back.
