Hi millies25412!! I had surgery 1/3 and I know that feeling. I try to weigh myself maybe once a week. OK twice a week. I was 239 on the day of surgery and I weighed myself 4 days ago I was 204.8. I think when you are overweight but not 3-400 lbs, like us, you lose weight slower. Maybe I'm wrong but my friends who have had this surgery weighed upwards of 300 lbs have lost weight, especially in the beginning, fast like 40-50 lbs in 2 mos. Remember we didn't have that much weight to begin with. Dont be discouraged. I take one day at a time, do what I am supposed to and that's that.

Scared and debating

I felt the same exact way. My surgery was scheduled for December 27 and I wasn't feeling well plus my husband was very sick. My surgery was postponed they were saying Jan 29. I said WHATTTTT!!!! No frigging way am I waiting that long. The surgeon cleared his calendar for jan 3. I was on the calendar. I started thinking.....omg, is it meant to be, should I do this...I won't be able to eat...you name it I thought it. I also thought, I went this far had all my doctor clearances tests etc...this is my chance to get this weight off. I knew if I said no I would definitely regret it. Jan 3rd came and went here we are jan 21 and I am post op doing well. I am down 18 lbs could be more by now haven't weighed myself in a few days. Is it hard?? Yes. I had to drink liquid for the first 2 weeks. It went down well. Soft foods now for the next two weeks. So far it is going OK. Walking everyday. If you do it you won't regret it, if you don't do it you might regret it. But only do it if you're ready. Seeing the weight come off the Scale go down is an amazing feeling. -
Not sure if you're asking me but I was taking the celebrate chewable and I switched to that!! Life Saver for sure!!!
-
CB31, can you swallow them? I was able to just swallow with water. Thank god. My vitamin was a chewable. It was so awful I gagged. Had to change it. Now its one capsule a day.

Good luck Cowgirl12!! There are a lot of good surgeons. My surgeon, Dr. Thomas Cerabona, has been doing all bariatric procedures for 30+ years and has an extremely high success rate. I am now 2 almost 3 weeks post op. Surgery is no picnic but had no complications at all. Wishing you the best!!!

Two weekends post op here! Doing great! Slowly eating soft protein and back to work today. How are you Marc76??
-
The first day. But if you need pain meds take them!! The first day I took them. The second I didn't. By bedtime I was very uncomfortable I asked for something. I got sleep and felt better. Always walk when you can! You'll do great!!!

It is not like screaming pain at all. It is more like an uncomfortable feeling. You will be fine. Just walk walk walk. It truly helps with everything. And take deep breaths.
-
@Keeks17 I was in pain. It is no joke. People said I went back to work in 4 days, I was cleaning the house top to bottom right after. I was walking right after I got to my room. It did hurt though. I had to be careful getting up and laying down as well as coughing. It does get better as time goes on.

I am 11 days post op and my incision sites look red. Is this normal??
-
Why aren't you able to get all protein in? Too full? Nauseous? I will be starting soft foods this coming week.
-
Best wishes for you!! Just have to get through the first 2 weeks...you'll be so happy.. I am.
-

2 weeks post op and am eating soft foods
Lynn1/3 replied to joeie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was told protein first then veggies. If you can, skip carbs. I will be 2 weeks post op next week and am looking forward to one soft protein meal a day for 2 weeks. High protein i.e. eggs, soft cheese, turkey, chicken, tuna fish and so on -
Now I am 10 days post op. Right this second I feel so nauseous. My vitamins, Celebrate, make me so sick feeling. God I can't wait until my new vitamins come on Monday. I also am feeling weak. I think the lack of calories is the cause. Plus I have been walking one mile to one and a half miles a day. Ugh. I hope you feel better Kaydo!!! I hear it gets better too!!
-
Lindsay, I hear that!!! I felt the same way. Im now 9 days post op. The pain gets less and less. I told everyone, if I could fast forward 2 weeks I would. Hang in there your feelings and pain is normal!!! XO
-
Lyndsay, if you need relief they should have given you a script for pain. If you're not in the hospital otherwise ask! I noticed the second night I had to breakdown and take pain meds.
-
I was jumping out of my skin prior to my surgery. Not to mention it was pushed back a week because I wasn't feeling well. Surgery is never fun but after the first few days it keeps getting better!! All the best!! You'll do great!!!
-
insurance is so crazy these days!!! Its surgery two nights may very well be needed!
-
Oh yes I had the sleeve as well. Might be different for bypass. Everything will be great!!
-
Lindsay_Says, I stayed one night. Everything went well so the one night was good for me.
-
I had surgery jan 3rd!! So far so great. I was very anxious prior. The first 3-4 days are a big adjustment. Today, post op 5 days, I feel good getting in all liquids, protein shakes and walking!!
-
I am 5 days post op and doing liquids only. Are you sure they're not pains from surgery or gas? Lol. I am not hungry at all perhaps having liquids is getting boring but not hungry.
-
I am happy to see I'm not the only one. I am 2 days post op. I can't keep my eyes open. I am drinking only about 30 oz. Of water and taking in 9 oz of protein shakes (3oz at each meal time). All I hear is walk walk walk...but you do need sleep as well...I'm nervous to sleep 8 hrs. At night. Has anyone felt this way?
