Who's up for a 'Vegas reunion' party in 2010
siouxsie sioux posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Over 100 July Butterflies!.. (and maybe room for some Junebugs too) I would like to take the lead in suggesting that if about 50 (and there are over 400+ of us) would be interested in meeting up, say Spring early Summer 2010 we could have a great trip to look forward too and could strut our new selves in Lovely Las Vegas!and meet at last our Forum buddies.. I'd love to see what interest there is out there for plan like this.. so Please lodge your interest.. Las vegas is somewhere most of us could get to for a long weekend and I have planned a couple of largish gatherings there before so have done lots of research ( got married there in 2006 and also had sons 21st).. Plenty of cheap accom and some great suites which perhaps we could have for one night to hold our 'Party 'in?? Thoughts please:thumbup: M x -

Hi Guys- I'm still here.. and I'm, definately in Vegas in early May 2010- will definately suggest a meet by early that year- I have lost 2.5 stone since being banded in belguim in July (35lbs- or 15.87 Kilos) I'm very very happy with my band.. I'd loose more if I would just quit drinking wine at the weekends!! -

Off to Belguim, booked for the 9th July- BMI only 34
siouxsie sioux posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi everyone I live in the SW of England, did loads of research, and have decided to go to see the Boys in Brugge (Dr Dillemans) . Have also found an aftercare package for 12 mnths for £699 to include absolutely everything, with the WLS group- I am travelling alone to belguim and am just staying 1 extra night and coming back alone as well- I am looking forward to it all.. I did loads of research befor i made my decision- I'd love to hear from anyone who would like to chat... I'm a relative light wieght with a BMI of 34 and I know I'd never get a Uk Dr to be happy to band me- but I'm looking for prevention rather than cure... I dont want to wait.. I want to start my new life ASAP.. Great forum.. hope to hear from you.. -

Feel I need it.. and Our Doc started us on yogurt drinks and set natural yogurt for breakfast and clear soup for lunch.. I'm going to keep myself mainly on clears. for a week or so.. Buttoday added some protien shake mix to a small glass of soya milk for b'fast and took multi vitamins with fish oils, just becuase I'm loosing pretty quick!.. Feel ok.. will be going back to work full-time next week.. I will walk the dog later! :smile2: -

siouxsie sioux replied to annestoy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm still on the 'goodbye tour' realy... thought I'd stop all alchol for a month from tommorrow.. cut out the cigs from Sunday to Sunday (wear patches at least.. I know I can, so I will) and just cut out all carbs from Saturday (which is tommorrow.. so I guess that piece of toast I just had will be my last for a while) -

I'm being banded in Belguim next week.. with a BMI 33.5 .. If I loose 60-70 lbs I'll be thrilled.. At 44 ,wieght only seems to go on .. Am a stone heavier than I was this time last year.. was an obese child 182lbs age 13.. only lost some of that later due to 'substance miss-use'..which off ,corse didnt stay off.. Back in England on the 13th.. Will let you know how I get on.. -

Thanks 'Mrs JJ' Already stocked up at home with what you suggested- and with homemade clear chicken soup here in the freezer!- I appreciate the 'get there early' suggestion! .. I have a small wheelie suitcase- nothing to carry realy.. soft sport bra.. baggy elasticated gear to travel in and although I am going to get to hotel by public transport.. I will avail myself of the Taxi right back to the airport.. so as long as I dont faint or anything stupid.. I have an inflatable travel pillow, incase I need padding & Hubby will meet me at the airport at this end.. I am a pain baby !.. I have booked one extra night at hotel post op because of this.. so I'll be traveling on the 4th day post op.. I am a determined little bunny.. so fingers crossed eh! ( should I take drinks like actimel with me?).. I'm with Dr Dilliemans by the way.. -
:lol:This is amazing.. over 100 in our 'little self made support network'- If we all come back with OK stories we are running a 100% sucsess rate!.. I am just humbled at how many of us are literally sharing this experience together.. We had better arrange a re-union in a couple of years time.. where we all wear our before photos!.. or have a competition to see how many people we can recognise.. I'm up for coming accross the pond.. and I would like to propose Las Vegas ( my favorite city, sorry) Spring, early Summer 2010.. I'll even plan it if you lot are up for it.. book a suite for a night? hold a private Party? what are your thoughts??

Over 100 July Butterflies....
siouxsie sioux replied to siouxsie sioux's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi there!- Shall I start a thread for 'Vegas reunion' and see what interest we get? I know the place pretty well.. I have done loads of research on the place, due to getting married there and having had my sons 21st over there as well... I think It would be a great place to hold a Party.. somewhere like the Palms.. We could have a private suite to all meet up at and split the cost of that a bit.. say if its 2000 dollars for a suite and even 50 people would come ( we could invite the june bugs too to get 50 if necessary) well it would mean people chipping in 40 dollars for a invite each.. and Have you SEEN the suites? pm me or send me your email if you like? Yup- We Just had the Festival,190,000 people in a created city in a field up the road. You may have seen it on the news! It's a sort of a Hippyish Old market town- Pretty small, no chain stores or anything, although The town of 'Street' 4 miles up the road, is the home of 'Clarks shoes ' and has a small range of outlet shops, although we would be expensive by US standards. Very pretty part of the country though, the south west of England, country lanes and villages, good for Bristol and Bath (Cities) Bath has all the Roman bath remains... much better than the south east (London) and not too far from Stonehenge....M xxx (I've done 8 festivals.. but was in Ireland this years.. my son went and said it was a good one..)
