Hey everyone, I’m 6 weeks post op tomorrow having had a gastric sleeve. We were away this weekend in Dublin, Ireland and it was my first experience of eating away from home. The hotel we stayed at Clayton on Cardiff Lane was amazing! I told them I was post surgery and still adjusting to my new stomach. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner they went way above and beyond to help me with food choices. Of at any time they were unsure of anything they would check with the head chef and then would make recommendations or come up with something for me. I understand some people are nervous and don’t want to tell someone when they are eating out. After my experience of dumping syndrome I just had to make sure before I ate and I’m so glad I did! If anyone is heading to Dublin, I highly recommended here and if you tell them you’ve had surgery they will help you every way they can

morning everyone, I’m feeling pretty low today. I lost 12lbs on my pre op diet, 12lbs the two weeks post op, then 3 and now 2. My surgeon said it would fall off me but two weeks with a 3 and 2 is hardly falling off! I thought it would be quicker than this and it’s got me got me down. I’m drinking well and focusing on eating protein first so no sure what I’m doing wrong. Has anyone else found the same?

I’m only 10 days post op and yesterday I had my first experience of dumping syndrome. It was awful, the stomach cramps, hot and cold, everything really took its tole on me. Today I’ve woken up and I’m feeling low and deflated like I’ve made a huge mistake. Everything was going so well in my recovery and now I feel like it’s all a mistake. I’m trying so hard to pick myself up but just feel like hiding away and crying. Had anyone else felt like this?

I’m in the UK too, whereabouts are you? Glad to hear your doing well and feeling better. I was told by my consultant 2 weeks but probably best to check with your car insurance as some may say more or less than that xx -
Surgery tomorrow morning

Good luck!!! I’m 5 days post op now. My consultant advised me to be prepared that when I wake up ill feel nauseous, he wasn’t wrong! Be prepared for that and get some anti sickness meds asap as that will help! You won’t need much in hospital, as you will be very tired and sleep a lot. I had my phone and book and didn’t use use either that much! Another big tip, as soon as your able to the day after surgery, get walking! Just up and down the corridor, keeping mobile has really helped me the last few days. Relax, it’s easier said that done but remember why your doing this and what you will you will achieve. Good luck [emoji4] xx -
Such a lovely post! Amazing achievements to you both. I’m only 5 days post op, you have both inspired me for what’s to come [emoji173]️ xx

Ladies PMS Question... Help...
Sarah Thompson replied to Yosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine arrived less than 48 hours after surgery! Felt very crampy and glow was much heavier than normal. Wasn’t sure if the pain was the gas or periods pains or both. Here is hoping it’s just a blip and will settle back down for your next one [emoji4] -

I’m doing alright thank you! Some pain, bloating which is to be expected but overall, so far so good! Keeping a constant positive mind will help! -
