Just got my surgery date today, vsg, April 16th😁

I’m excited and freaking out a little... lol just nerves though!
I’m ready to be past the first month! I’m not scared but just trying to get prepared. My dr only has me on a low fat before, not liquid only, so I’m happy about that. I’m ordering samples of different Protein Drinks and powders so I’ll have them on hand. I’ve also gotten a few groceries here and there that I’ll need for the mush phase. pudding, jellos, cream of wheat, tuna, etc.

I started my pre op liquid diet today and boy was I not mentally prepared for it but I think it went well except I had a rice pudding thinking it’d be ok until my nutritionist said nope. So I’m hoping tomorrow is better. They say the first 3 days are the hardest so we’ll see. Hopefully I’m not scaring anyone. Just sharing my experience 🤨🤨. Anyone else started liquid today? How was it? Any tips?

I got my surgery date!
I’m having gastric bypass surgery on April 11th.

Day three of my liquid diet today and I actually feel pretty amazing. It’s nice to know I’m purging all the crap out of my body and I was super hungry yesterday morning but once I got over that hump I’ve been ok. I’m in a really positive mindset and ready for what is to come!

I can’t wait to get my date 😩

I don’t judge people on their decision to disclose or not disclose. Freedom of choice is a great thing.
You are right, you can’t force people to disclose/tell the truth about their medical information. So, If I had cancer I should be "forced" to tell people about chemotherapy? Is not disclosing my cancer treatment out of shame?
You still get asked about your weight/ maintaining? Things have become mundane years out. I never get asked about my weight anymore. I have been this size for years.

I just say, if there's an easy way out, I'll take it. I don't think it's the easy way out, but if people want to think that, I don't care. Like I really want to do everything the hardest way possible. What am I, stupid?

I come right out and tell everyone I did it, other ppl judge no matter what, I couldn’t care less what they think, I did this for me, and I never regret or look back, hopefully I inspire, which I have had many ask questions

So this would be my one year (oct 2018, 80 lbs down since surgery, just over 85 total. Weighing 140.3 yesterday)with gastric bypass done 17 months later -March 4 2019, so I'm coming up 2 weeks post op tomorrow

Update, all is good, the skin definitely caught up (stretched) with it and no more pain👍👍

So, I've lost a lot of weight and am feeling good. I look better... With my clothes on... Clothes off, I look like a burst balloon and my boobs are like golf balls in tube socks. When my weight has stabilized I plan on surgery. Question is, is there a package deal that does tummy, boobs and bingo wings?!

It will pass, then when you eat it will only take a couple bites to feel full, you will soon realize the only thing that you will regret about this entire journey is that you didn’t do it sooner, good luck, hang in there

1 yr post op, no looking back

Still a struggle healing, but the results are remarkable. 7 months yesterday; gastric bypass in Tijuana, Mexico. Started out size 24 at 279 lbs, now wear a size 12 weighting 181 lbs.

Newest pic. 7 months out. 96 down since surgery.

One year and 4 months out starting weight 228 current weight 154

Almost 5 pounds away from being 100 pounds down! Sleeved February 12 2018
