Jan 11 here, down 64 lbs from my SW and 74 from my HW. I am enjoying lots of activities, pole fitness, tennis and scuba diving. Still enjoying wine! I love my sleeve. 7 lbs from Onederland and mini-goal to hit it by June 20 when I go on vacation to Cuba.

January Sleevers..."Let's post those updates"
Engelyn replied to BINABINA25's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was Jan 11, down from 281 to 207, Onederland here I come! Size 10/12 pants also making me very happy! -
Hi! Great pic! The diving looks amazing there, I'm jealous! I live in Central Florida so we have lots of options here in-state. This past weekend I was diving in Key Largo, we dove on the Spiegel Grove which was great! We will definately be making a return We also did some reefs and another wreck called the Benwood, and a night dive. I've been to several places in the Caribbean and Mexico as well. We are planning to do a liveaboard next year, I am very excited for that! Yes my air consumption improved as well, shockingly I outlasted both my buddies who are very fit on some of the dives. Before I always dragged them up early! Happy bubble making.

Riding home on a narcosis high! I had a great weekend scuba diving, achieving both my PADI advanced and enriched air diver certification. Best part for me was diving in the ocean again and needing LESS weight because I weigh 50 lbs less than I used to! I call it losing my whale blubber [emoji23] . Much more weight to go but this was a major success story for me! Also I have to sell and replace my wetsuits and BCD (for smaller sizes) and get new ones before my next planned dives (May), worth it not to have to lug around more lead to counteract all my fat buoyancy. I’m sure this story won’t mean much to most but hopefully encouraging to other VSG Divers out there!

Keep your chin up jenondaway! I say f*ck 'em! You did this for you and if you keep losin' like you are losin' your clothes will be hanging soon. Celebrate your successes so far and screw the haters!

So I’ve been avoiding buying new clothes for as long as possible but today I have to go to the mall because I have decided I need new jeans. Last night at Orlando City’s home opener against DC United (MLS Soccer) we scored the equalizer in the last few minutes of the game and the supporter section went crazy. I went crazy. I high fived. I screamed. I jumped. And when I jumped... my pants fell off. [emoji23] A little “behind” show for the folks behind me! Luckily I was wearing cute undies and they were going as crazy as I was. Anyway, NSV, New Pants, Yay! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Now to find the healthy stadium food options...

Anyone tried stomach taping or bandaging?
Engelyn replied to Lala'sthinFtW's topic in The Gals' Room
I feel the need to point out to the people who have been posting in this thread recently that it is over a year old, 2017 not 2018. The OP was already married way back in April of 2017. So, though it is very nice that you are still offering her advice on her wedding dress, I'm sure she doesn't need it now. -
I am not the kind of person that can slave away at the gym elliptical-ing in circles. I have taken up some sports and fitness classes. Pole and aerial fitness, tennis, recreational adult kickball, and last night I went to a Barre class, that was difficult and my muscles are sore today! Just some suggestions.

Wondering when I can drink alcohol
Engelyn replied to Evelyn Canales's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m sorry that you’ve been preyed upon by the stone throwers. This forum is full of self righteous prigs. It didn’t kill me to have a few sips around the same time as you post op. I do think returning to drinking habit will slow weight loss so I have tried to change my consumption as much as possible while still retaining my sanity and social life, less consumption, low calorie/no calorie mixers, limit wine and eliminate beer. -
I hope you feel better soon. That is a great book!

Sushi in soft phase? Rice?
Engelyn replied to atphiladephia's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had some tonight, dissected my favorite roll so that I could have the fish and the flavor but not eat much of the rice. I used to be able to eat like 2.5 rolls! Tonight I could only have 3 pieces, and dissected pieces at that! But it was delicious and lots of healthy protein in that salmon and tuna. [emoji39] -
Alcoholic Beverages
Engelyn replied to I AM NOT MY SIZE's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup. It’s going fine. Definitely way less now than before pre-op diet and surgery. Liquor drinks with no calorie/low calorie mixers go fine. Beer doesn’t go, makes me feel full after a sip or 2. Wine is fine but also makes me feel full after about half a glass. I have been focused on replacing my evening drinks with new hobbies and activities. I’m bored now that I am drinking way less. It wasn’t something I anticipated. A pro is that conversations with my friends seem to be more deep and fulfilling. Careful, if you speak your truth about this issue on this forum you’re liable to get flamed like a salem witch. [emoji23] -
If you are out a don’t have your cup or scale, because let’s be honest, that’s gunna happen. I found this video by Dr. V to be helpful!

I miss fried chicken, mac and cheese and also I burp a lot. Just the less serious side of the cons.

DaVinci robotic surgery
Engelyn replied to KCgirl061's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My sleeve was done with this robot. All positive from me. Amazing tech! Incisions are very small and healing really well, no complications, and the surgery itself was very quick. I've heard that you should ask your surgeon how many procedures he/she has done with the robot to make sure that they are well experienced using it. -
19 days post op- feel like I'm going crazy - help
Engelyn replied to 2feelinggreatagain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a few suggestions: deep breathing and/or marijuana. I have noticed that post surgery I also have had some heightened irritability and no-reason rage. Mostly I have been trying to get more sleep when possible, afternoon naps have been my friend. -
Based on my own experience I think you'll be fine, but we are all different. One of the vets posted something about how the natural stomach acidity is way more than any drink/food could be, I don't remember the exact quote. I think it was @BigViffer? Anyways I would take a small sip and wait about 5 minutes to see if it feels okay. Or try watering it down a little to start?

Oooh! Tattoo is a good idea. I am going to add that to my list.

I've been making a list... Mostly mine are vacations or new clothes. 1. VBT Tuscany By the Sea https://www.vbt.com/tours/tuscany-by-the-sea/ 2. Cruise in Asia 3. Clothes Shopping - I'm especially looking forward to finding/buying/making a cute raver outfit for EDC Orlando next year. 4. New bathing suit for summer 5. Mexico diving trip 6. Getting out my sports car that had become uncomfortable to drive do to my size, having it fixed up and repainted. 7. A boob job!

I made a keto/lowcarb pizza for my guests (many still on New Year resolution diets). For the dough I used Cast Iron Keto's dinner roll recipe which is composed mostly of mozzarella, cream cheese and almond flour. For the sauce I used the Atkins pizza sauce recipe (added more herbs and onions than it called for). For toppings I put all the proteins! Sausage, ham, pepperoni! Reviews from my tribe: delicious! It came out a lot like a deep dish Chicago style pizza. I could only have one small bite of this though, because I had ham and turkey before. The other keto/lowcarb friendly snack that was a hit for our party was bacon wrapped pickles. Sounds weird, but everyone loved those!
