eh.. its me again, oviously still not banded but may is getting a lil bit closer .. very slowly.. which is when i go see Dr Dolan again, still havnt given up skoking yet.. ( typing with one in my hand right now.. oops...:tongue:.. just checking up on everyone seeing how its all going . still fingers crossed that i get a date in May. Started seeing my ex again after a 6 month split things have been great except for recently things have been quite rocky, 2 very insecure ppl trying to make a relationship work get very difficult. been a while since i been on here as i dnt have another appointment with Dr Dolan Pre Surgery until May, Hopefully then i will get a surgery date... have to quit smoking before May though as he said he will not do it if i dont....

are you a public patient? because as far as i know public patients go to joodulup, when is your appointment with Dr Dolan? if it is b4 mine b sure to let me know how long you have to wait till surgery.

seen the dr got my refferal, thak god!.. i have an appointment with the lap band Dr next month, the lady on the phone told me its a minimum 18 month waiting list to get the surgery done how dissapointing

Hi peoples, Just introducing myself my name is Charli and im a 23 yr old Woman from Perth Western Australia. I have for some time now been looking into having Lap Band surgery, tomorrow, being Monday the 7th of April i have an appoinment with my GP to see him about getting a referal to get Lap Band Surgery so fingers crossed i do. So i thought that i would join this forum to be apart of something that i can come to when/if i get this surgery done. I would love to hear up on other people experiences with the Band. Hi Slimmy I have to lose around 50kgs, how long ago did you go to your doctor to ask this. My BMI is 42.9. My Dr gave me the refferal but it is still up to the Dr who does the surgery. As far as i know Medicare covering Lap Band surgery hasnt been aroud that long, but im not to sure. Maybe ask again or so another Dr. My Dr didnt discuss the lose skin afterwards but im quite aware that im most probably going to have some and gotta tone up as much as i can during weightloss as with the band it is quite rapid. I hope that answers your questions

Hi another perthy here I have an appointment today with my GP hoping he will give me a referral to see Dr Kevin Dolan as i dont have Private Health Insurance but if i get a refferal it will be covered by Medicare. So fingers crossed he gives me one because i will be pretty gutted if he dosnt. Has anyone here been through Dr Dolan before, i work in a plus size clothing store and a customer accually had just had the surgery done my him and gave me his contact details. So my questions are has anyone on here gone through Dr Dolan and how long did you have to wait to get the surgery when you are just on Medicare?

aww wow its great to have such a warm welcome , im accually a member of a weightloss forum and one lady on there turned me to join this forum, which seems great, once i get used to how everything works ha ha. So my appoinment with my Dr is at 2:40 today and i dont want to get my hopes up but it is hard, i need this referral for it to be covered by medicare because i cannot afford to pay for this on my own and i dont have Private Health Insurance. Im soo anxious its driving me nuts. I dont feel that many ppl around me are understanding why i want to get this surgery they all seem to think that im doing this because i cant be bothered putting the work in, so i hope my Dr dosnt feel the same. Any advise on how to get past this and what i should explain to the Dr? Im 115kg and about 5"8( i think ) ive been overweight since like Forever, this Dr has put me on Duromine in the past and it worked but i started getting addicted to it and popping too many a day i was going abit mental on them, plus they are not cheap, ive done fat blaster, the Soup diet, liquid diets, lite n easy, calorie counting.. and i was never satisified with any of them thats why i want this so badly because i want to be satisfied with less food. I am so sick and tired of my weight being in control of me, i want do certain things that i want to do because of my weight, its my number 1 excuse in life and i just want to feel comfortable enough to live my life, im 23 yrs old i have a 5 yr old daughter, i want to be around for her i want her to be proud of her mummy i just want to live a good life.

As long as you get a refferal from you doctor to get the lap band surgery Medicare does cover
