I had the flu shot just like every year and I still got it. Do you realize since its a virus every time it passes through a host(one of us) it mutates so although they do their, best,to match to the most prevelent strains sometimes its only a 60% match. So one,of the remaining 40% chewed on me. Not as bad as I would have been witout immunization but enough to get my attention. And since,i'm asthmatic things don't want,to,leave my lungs, they set up housekeeping and to evict them I have to be on medication. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Spring 2018 Sleevers??? Looking for support, surgery buddies, advice, etc.! Lol.
kakatlady612 replied to WLS4ME33's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Nicole WLS4ME33 and I are hanging around this thread a lot. She will be a sleeved this spring, I will be a RnY in March, we have both done, our research and are only too happy to help. Ask away, if she or I don't have an answer there will be a veteran that will. Do you have a surgery date yet? I'm still waiting for an exact date from my surgeon's office, as soon as i,know I'll shout it from the rooftops. This is a promise. I'm old enough to be everybody's grandma but like everybody else I'm in it to win it. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Having Gastric Sleeve and I’m scared!
kakatlady612 replied to KrystalRose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Macky, my Bari-friend in Cleveland is about your age and is going to be sleeved next week. And Primrose, who won't be done until about March, my month is also a "youngen" like you. Boy sometimes I wish I'd had surgery before my body got so broke down but then I remember there's spunk and life force in this old gal and it keeps me moving towards the prize. My surgeon has a wall of success where he puts your before, after and a brief story of your journey. I'm gonna be there someday! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Any buddy out there that wants to share day-to-day progress with me?
kakatlady612 replied to fridacuriel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I was a,little kakat- kitten my mother would pour boiling water on shredded wheat to soften it, pour the water off and when it cooled down give it to me. To eat. I wonder if you, could do sometilhing, like, that with rice or corn chex put some milk on it stir until it's smooth. Be almost like cream of rice or cream of wheat. Did you know cream of wheat is also called farina? If you see it in the baby food aisle, its the same thing. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

Roadblocks With Indiana Medicaid
kakatlady612 replied to Ciara_Reese2's topic in Insurance & Financing
Ciara any updates? Decency would dictate you, both deserve WLS, but then you are dealing with State government and they aren't always known for decency, are they? Wish there was some way,to do them as a hardship case. In the long run you're both going be healthier and save them money, but ah how do you convince them of that? I hope somehow you get all straightened out. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
This too will pass. You're on the road to good things Blue Girl. Hugs Honey. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Something Not Addressed
kakatlady612 replied to kakatlady612's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Tomkitten last month had a colonoscopy, bowel prep made him go 18 times. Among the clear liquid suggestions was lemon or lime Jello, all that pooping and when he got his pictures back, yeah they give you sheet with color pictures of your innards. At any rate in 1 there was still a small puddle of lime jello showing. He's going Whattt? Turns out all he's got is a small amount of internal hemmoroids, told him he should be grateful he' d never be pregnant and pop them suckers out. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
I'm a D cup pre surg , since the girls have breastfed and fought the weight wars with me I figure,I'll end up a fullB skimpyC, as long as I don't need a seatbelt retractor I'll be satisfied. Besides I couldn't always find find a 46D and I know they have a,lot bigger choice smaller. Women my age(72) are like the Sahara Desert; everyone has heard of it, many have a general idea where it's located, but not a soul books a vacation trip there. So I'll roll Thing 1 and Thing2 up in my bra and go on from there. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Having Gastric Sleeve and I’m scared!
kakatlady612 replied to KrystalRose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Many say it's like having done a few too many situps, most say the tenderness doesn't last all that long. Follow your d octor's advice, get up soon after your surgery is over and walk often, that way you get rid of the gas sooner. I'm sure the veterans will be weighing, with advice also, I know I value all their stories too. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
