What was for breakfast this morning?

Oooh smoked oysters sound so so good. Used to enjoy smoked gouda or Swiss cheese. The county 1 to the NE of me Holmes County Ohio has Heine's and many other cheese factories. Coincidentally it also has Ohio's largest Amish population. Has anyone outside Ohio tasted Trail Bolonga? The best comes from Trail, Ohio and its another of my guilty pleasures. If you haven't the best way I could descibe is a smoked summer sausage but that pales in comparison to the real thing. Come visit me and I'll take you, there. And once my friend Robert brought me some made from venison, I want to lick my fingers remembering it. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

6 weeks post op and sick of soup

How about a small microwaved/baked sweet potato? My grocery has small ones, I nuke 1, when it's nice and soft I split it open and eat it out of the skin. Used to butter and brown sugar it but it's tasty just plain. How about baked. winter squash? You could dig it out its shell, keep it to eat a little at a time. Buddies/Mentors

Hi linita, I'm waiting for call-back,or letter from my surgeon's office. Tenatively early-mid March RnY. Lets be friends, and you can ask me anything also. I'm in Central Ohio, 50 miles from Columbus where my surgeon and hospital, Mount Carmel, are located. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Any February Sleevers?

A lot of people have food funerals from what I've seen on Bariatric Pal. Just don't engorge yourself and undo all the gains in self-respect and losses in weight you've achieved already. Every party needs a pooper and maybe I'm fulfilling that position. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Love how I do not crave fried food anymore

They are greasy and yucky and I don't understand what I saw in them. R.W. it is now Panczi season, pronounced Punch-kee, an Evil Bavarian donut of Polish extraction. Although I resisted the call of the boxed donuts in the supermarket aisle the other day the Panczi display kept trying to get my attention And even said "Hey sweet stuff, I'm over here" considered knocking them on the floor but didn't want to get in trouble with management. So I said "just shut up" and kept moving toward the door. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    After surgery

I can get my vitamins thru my surgeon for comparable cost. I think I'll try that for awhile, if they agree with me it will be one less hurdle to jump. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    RNY VS. VSG (help!!!!)

Well I have always heard they steer you towards RnY if you've had or are prone to develop diabetes. That said, you need to have a little chat with the surgeon, especially if you are younger. I am a future RnYer but my co morbid probably differ. I have sleep apnea, Gerd, severe arthritis(since i was 25), didn't want to,lose the majority of my stomach, needed the quicker weight loss and didn't mind the other problems bypass might cause. Didn't want the constipation sleepers seem to have. But those are some of my feelings but I know and respect my sleeved friends, that surgery worked well, for them and they are in their 30s to 50. My gosh,I'm 72, I have a young friend who's having a lap-band, I doubt if its gonna work well for her but she made her own choice and its not my place to convert her. I'll keep on watching her, not even sure if she truly considered the others. My local hospital still does do lap-band , I suspect Erika just didn't want to go out of town. I do wish her well as I do everyone else. As the ole Carnival Barker said "You pays your money You takes your choice" Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
