Try to bring home some of the iddie biddy mini medicine cups to start, out with your sip sips. I'm seeing a lot of people saying recently a baby sippy cup is useful. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Large weight gain

As a fellow asthmatic I can tell you steroids are notorious for weight gain. Ah you can't live with them and we can't live do well without them. As the King says in Anna and the King of Siam says " is a puzzlement" Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Maybe we can relate to to this kid...

Ms Tibbs I have changed my dreams. I now dream of good health, continued lifespan and a more beautiful thinner life. Junk foods], I'm divorcing them. It was a toxic relationship I can do without. Now onward to a surgical change in my life, early-mid March can't come soon enough for me. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    UTI

A little more FYI crucify? I draught all my children girl and 2 bous to wipdone that way. Freaked my late husband out when he happened to observe oNE of our sons. I didn't think anything about it, shoot if he wanted to,be in charge of bathroom habits he should have stayed home instead of working 12 and even 15 hour shifts at his office. Second reason if he had the ITIs I've had in my lifetime he truly, would have understood. We, as God's ultimate model with 3 not 2 openings were blessed with a very short urethra so bacteria have an easy march up to the bladder. Hello pain and suffering! esophageal tube

Tightening,an esophageal tube sounds more like something, that would happen with a Nissen fundaplicatoon or the Linx procedure. Ever heard of that one? A row of magnets( maybe like a strip?) is put in place around your cardiac, sphincter (the valve between your esophagus and stomach) and it holds it shut so you don't reflux anymore. The bad news is its nigh,on to impossible to ever vomit again no matter what you accidently,or intentionally, ingest. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Finding a Surgeon

I agree with Mattymatt, my area of Ohio is lucky that all 3 hospitals offering surgeries in Columbus-Ohio State University, Riverside Methodist and, mine Mount Carmel are ranked as Bariatric Centers of Excellence. When you plan for something this life changing you want to seek the best. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Doubtful. Are you keeping yourself well hydrated? Concentrated urine has precipitated UTI flare-ups for me in the past. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    ESG scheduled for February 6

I've had 2, one in 2015 by a general surgeon and my latest December 20, 2017 by my gastroenterologist. With my first I had a sore throat and was goofy as heck waking up from it. My son took pictures on his cell phone when I first woke up. I looked like a cross between drunk and stoned. My one in December I woke relaxed no sore throat and could have whipped my weight in Wildcats, quite an undertaking as I have a BMI of 45. He provided me with a printout with pictures of my esophagus and stomach. Turns out I have gastritis, a small ulcer and a moderate hiatus hernia. Darling it's nothing to worry about, in the US and Canada you're asleep for a little while, I understand in some areas of Europe they leave you awake, Although usually I'm a brave little Elk I don't think I'd enjoy that. When I had my colonoscopy in 2012 I elected to remain awake, many people don't. My son was asleep for his (same g.I. doctor) but I wanted to watch. It was totally fascinating and hope to do the same when I'm due again in 2022. Does this relax you a little? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery date March 13th.

And yes I'm sure I'll be giving myself Lovenox shots as well. When I had my knee replacements I was on Xarelto pills but I'm pretty sure my surgeon prefers shots. Not a bit scared, I've given many to others. , Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery date March 13th.

Hi let me in too, Although I haven't been given a definite date yet I should be early-mid March. All my prerequirements are done and I'm waiting for a letter( way they usually do it) or phone call from my surgeon's office. The person who usually does it has been out with the flu and I'm not sure if anyone picked up the slack. Oh I'm getting impatient my friends. I will, have a RnY at Mount Carmel in Columbus Ohio. I'm sure I'm older than all you surgery twins but I'm in it to win it like everyone else. Don't lynch me folks but my surgeon doesn't require a liquid pre-surg diet, just low carb and balanced. Ah but afterward I'll be clear, full, mushie and puree just like the rest of the WLS world. I've been on Bariatric Pal a couple, months and have learned loads from the veterans active on here. 15. I've been to Campbell River and Quadra Island, I was there for the. Centennial of Confederation. Never been to Victoria but spent some time in Vancouver coming-and-going. My dream is to someday see the Peace River country after I read a novel when I was a teenager. Yes they had invented paper back then, I'm only 72! I'll have a RnY in early-mid March in Columbus, our state capital, I can hardly wait to effect t his change in my life. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. My late husband the Somewhat Lamented was cut from much the same cloth. I sublimated my will, played roulette, with my health and 5 1/2 years after his death I've finally, booked for surgery. I am 72, had 2 knee replacements after having arthritis since 25. Was even told I did that for attention, wouldn't let me walk with the cane which would have helped my mobility. Please go forward with your plans, like others have said it is your body and,you shouldn't have. to face your mortality any sooner than necessary. If you want to talk more I'm always here and more than many others I do understand. I'm 72 and facing RnY surgery, I'm more afraid of not having this surgery, getting slower, more broken down and finally expiring. I will use this tool and use it for my health. Hope you'll still join me on this journey. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

6 weeks post op and sick of soup

Well I am pre surg at this point, hey still listen, I have gastritis confirmed by my gastroenterologist, I am naturally on a post surgery bent, I can't eat any more at a time than you. 2 or 3 small bites, the most I seem to get down is 1/4 to 1/2 cup cottage cheese. My Bariatric Coordinator Amber who I am in touch with often teased me " you're with the program a little. ahead of time", many people are on liquids pre surg I seem to be on pureed. Irritates my son, I fix him things then I barely eat what I fixed. Told him after my RnY in March I'll be this way or worse so get used to it. He is supportive of the surgery but he does worry about me. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Referral & IEHP

Daizeoh what does IEHP stand for? We use a lot of acronyms around here, sometimes I can figure them out other times not. I'm reminded of the communication sent out by our British cousins during WWII " the COW (commanding officer Western Pacific) will now be known as SOW (supreme officer Western Pacific)". Before I started my weight loss journey I didn't know what RnY and VSG meant, oh boy I do now. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
